I guess I just don't like/understand the idea of say a royal whatever who's 'base color' is blue. I then abandon said pet what is the difference between them and a blue pet? I do think people should work for there pets, but I dont think there is anything wrong with the rare chance of finding a good pet in the pound. I mean common finding a painted pet in the pound is about as likely as finding a rare paintbrush on the floor.


Also I think this new system is going to result in alot of unfair/illegal selling of pets. Before there was nothing to say that a transfer would go smoothly and so people where very unlikely have risked the Neopoints for the pet. But now I see the selling becoming more likely with a transfer easily done.

Not all painted pets look like regular pets even with no clothes. Painted pets such as sketch, shadow, split etc can still be adopted.

Also special pets will still be surfable - baby, mutant, maraqua.

Actually Painted Pets are a dime a dozen if you refresh long enough - especially since a lot of people use the lab now just to paint and pound.

The Transfer system looks like it will be like the Item Transfer - but you will get 3 days to accept it.

If the user does not log on and accept the transfer during the next three days, your Neopet will automatically return to you.

But with all new things, there will probably be some hiccups along the way.

I think there should be an option to abandon non-naked pets. A lot of people do the adopt-zap-abandon for someone lucky thing.

I've never actually been to or interacted with the pound, except for the one time I popped in to get the avvie, so I've no idea what goes on in there...

edit: just an afterthought, I suppose the abandon/adoption thread will use the transfers now... (or use it more, at any rate; perhaps a rename? )
addendum: how will "abandon without clothes on" affect robot pets? No casings? Creepy for some colors...

I am very excited to have the pound back up! I have had a pet on my account that I've been wanting to put up for adoption for months! I also like this new transfer idea...I may have to go out and create a new account so I can transfer a couple of my pets to allow me to focus on my battle pet.

If I have a fairy, starry, maraquan, strawberry, fruit chia, electric, baby pet, or any "paint" that does not put clothes on the pet, and put it in the pound, the "paint" stays? But if it is painted with a PB that puts on clothing (just Royal and Halloween?) it will come off in the pound and revert to it's color before it was "painted"? I know the lab doesn't do Royal, but it does do Halloween. For unanswerable questions just yet, I guess I have to wait and see...

Regardless of my questions, I am glad to see the pound finally returning. It's been nearly a year since it was taken down right? I lost internet from May-November last year and I was pretty sure the pound went down right before I went internet-less for 6 months.

Your half right. Pets with colors that have no clothes, when abandoned, stay the same. Pets with clothes lose the clothes, but keep the actual paint coat, so a royalgirl keeps their yellow and pink coloring. However, if I understand correctly, if transfered, the pet keeps all their clothes...except for nc items.

BEWARE: Rant about the Pound below:

When TNT closed the Pound, many players quit and abandoned their super strong pets, and there are many 700 boost pets in the Pound. When the Pound is released, all those pets will probably go to rich people with strong pets or total nubs who have no idea what they are doing These people are getting, essentially, free pets whereas I am paying tens of millions to train my pet. I consider this extremely annoying and frustrating because they are not doing any "work" and are still getting strong pets. I suppose if I had the name of a strong pet, I would not feel this way, but I don't, so I am extremely mad.

I actually squealed with delight this morning when I read the transferring bit in the FAQ. I am not ashamed to say that.

This is just... too wonderful for words. I wanted the pound back because I want to transfer some pets between accounts. I was actually a bit worried about how it would all work. They could have actually made it harder to transfer pets. But they actually gave us a safe way to transfer. I could hug them!!

That's all I care about, transferring my own pets. I couldn't care less about anything else. I don't care if people try to sell their pets. Most of them will probably get caught, and even if they don't, so what? There are worse crimes. Selling pets never seemed like such a horrible thing to me, although I would never do it. It doesn't hurt me any if other people do it.

I don't care so much that pets will go into the pound naked. I actually think that is the best solution, although I can understand why some people don't like it. I don't think there could have been a perfect solution to this that would make everyone happy, so I think they did the best they could. I have no desire to either snatch up a good painted pet from the pound, or zap good pets and abandon them for others. I like to paint my own pets and zap only for myself. So it doesn't really effect me either way.

I don't care that the boards with be a sea of asking to borrow av pets. I stay well clear of the boards except for my beloved chat group. So the New Member can flail about all they want. Now with the safe transfer option I plan to get all av pets and petpets with my own hard work and/or lucky zaps.

I think the one transfer a month is a very good rule. It may discourage people trying to sell pets, and may keep the rampant borrowing of av pets somewhat at bay. It'll be a little bit annoying for me because I have a lot of juggling around of pets between my accounts I want to do, but I don't really mind. I've waited nearly a year for the pound to come back, I can wait a few more months to have all my transfers completed. I'm just so pleased with having worry free transfers that I can't really find fault with anything else.

Is it just me, or does anyone have a fear of some glitch happening that allows someone to transfer any pet (even one that isn't theirs or even in their account) to another account? I mean, with any new system glitches can happen. We can only hope no one loses a pet this way.

Now that IS scary! Yikes! Hope they tested, tested, tested and then re-tested this! IMHO< if there's going to be a bug I would rather it not transfer at all than go crazy like this! Then again, they will be using similar code from the item transfer, which doesn't hiccup as much...

Well, if they became stupidly high (as in a whole 'set' would cost more than the PB itself) then it would defeat the purpose and people would just buy the PB. It could also be a market force to drop those dang PB prices. But it would mess with the 'exclusivity' of the PB, so no, I don't think it would be a good idea.

Stupid question that we'll probably find out the answer to next week anyway, but: what's considered "1 month"? If I transfer a pet from my main to side 1 next Monday (the 28th), will I be able to transfer a second pet from my main to side 1 on May 1, or will I have to wait 30/31 days to make the second transfer? In other words: does the transfer tally roll over on the first of each month or after a specific period of time?

Also: Lutaris. They're already notoriously un-poundable, but will they be transferable?

Also: if you for example manage to adopt a halloween ruki without all the clothes, do you still get the avatar? There's a couple of avvies like this, halloween lupe, island quiggle etc. They should work without the clothes, right?
