Let's look at Neopets real life pets for a minute. If you had to get rid of your pet, would you rather drop your pet off at the pound, or give them to someone you know? In real life you know that when you're driving your dog to your friend, someone's not going to grab the dog out of the moving car on the way. But in Neopets that happens all the time when pets are swiped from the pound from someone. Smudge had this idea: "You want to pound your pet. You can choose 2 options. Pound delay or immediate display. If you pick immediate display the pet immediately goes to the pound. Anyone can adopt it. This would be for people who just pound a pet and don't care who gets it. If you choose Pound Delay the pet would not appear in the pound for a bit. The pet would still be adoptable, but you would have to know its name to adopt it. This would give a person plenty of time to switch accounts and get it, or to find a nice owner, or to tell a friend that the pet is ready to adopt.

Hi! My friend's been wanting to switch some of her Neopets to side accounts, but these Neopets have aged Petpets and she's afraid she won't be eligible to win the PPL if the Petpet isn't on her main account. Should she be worried? ~laruvy
As far as the PPL goes, it doesn't matter what account the Neopet and its Petpet are on. Even if you adopt a Neopet with a well-aged Petpet, you are still eligible. She should be more concerned about safely transferring her Neopets, as there are always people watching the pound. Good luck!
