The Purple Grundo plushies aren't new. They've been out for a couple months now. 
If you see the actual plushie in person, it really does look cute. It's not half as bad as you think.
On the issue of purple neopets, I think on some it looks fine, while on others is looks like that have the Chicken Pox. It was a cute idea to dress them up a little, but sometimes they overdo it.
It's not really something to get overly worked up about. That's how the purple pets have been for a while. If you don't like it, don't get it. Simple as that.

How long do you count 'a while' as? Because recently, Neopets made most of the purple neopets that were previously purple diseased (Acara, Korbat, Shoyru, Jetsam, Koi), when they had previously been purple for several years.
I owned a Purple Acara and I wasn't too chuffed to find her with fugly orange freckles. I said that before, didn't I?

its awful sometimes opposite colors look nice together but those shades obviously don't.. y can't they have the purple be a nice light purple? or even if they do keep it that shade the orange makes it look like it has a skin disease

Personally I think the Poogle looks really good, except for the spots.

i actually like the purple poogle. and i think that purple and orange can look good next to each other. if i had a poogle *i did but before they made it into the much nicer updated version* i would like to paint it purple. the spots are a little large, but i can overlook that
but this one, just looks odd, its not a pet true, but it has pasted on orange spot on its coat. it was better off purple.

lol if ppl like the orange and purple mixes they can get a split pet but from what i remember that is like THE most unpopular pet color

*shrugs* I like the orange-purple-spot deal. Seriously, people get way too worked up over it. If you don't like it, don't get a purple pet. Try Darigan. *laughs* If only I could afford a Darigan paint brush.
