i got the answer in millimetres...but now to convert it into metres... do i multiply the mm aswer by 1000 or divide it... i can never remember!

What I usually do is do both and see which one sounds more reasonable but in this case it's divide :)

It's pretty obvious what the "other" answer is but the two things that made me doubt that they wanted the real answer were these two phrases.

Yeah, that's the sentence that made me think, "Wait a minute," and go with the answer I actually submitted. There's always a chance, though....
