The Lost Desert map is back. The old url was http://images.neopets.com/maps/map3/map ... 3_48_0.swf . It now 404s.
There was an image http://images.neopets.com/maps/map3/map ... 3_48_1.swf on the servers. It had qasala on it, and was otherwise the same as _0.swf. It has now been changed to remove qasala and the footprints, and is now the version in use.
There is now http://images.neopets.com/maps/map3/map ... 3_48_2.swf . It is the same as _1.swf used to be, but without the footprints.

I'm a little confused as to how we match the colors up to our symbols from the light using the first crystal. (Yes I'm well aware I'm VERY far behind..)

Do I like, take the first color that was shown on the wall, attatch it to a symbol and so on? And do I attatch a blank to a symbol and ignore that symbol on my tablet all together or what?

To match the light colours to your tablet symbols, just take the first colour (whether it is a real colour or a blank) of your sequence (the leftmost colour) and you assign it to the first symbol on your tablet (the top left one). Then you take the next colour or blank and assign it to the second symbol on your tablet (the second one on the first row). You do this for all the colours on the wall.
Then, when you need to go looking for your scrolls, you can skip the symbols that are assigned to a blank. You will only need these when you are on your last crystal.

That's what was confusing me, thank you so much for clearing that up for me. :)

Did anyone notice that the footprints to the repository are gone?

Maybe that means we can take dune buggies now. Indiana Tomos knows how to get around the desert really well, just watch out for those flying wings and tanks. :P

Tug-o-war ? It's about four years old :P They just didn't have it (or Grand Theft Ummagine) on the map.

Still don't have GTU...

Anywho, I think the plot finished after Razul, now we're just waiting while others play catch-up and Neo releases Qasala

just saw a ss on someone's lookup of the lost desert map. I don't have the Neo url, but they swear it's a ss of what they saw when they went to the lost desert - namely Quasala!

I'm not seeing it, and no, no more footprints either. Maybe this is it? Gotta say, I'll miss the boards, the fun, the help and everything here. But we'll all get back together for the next plot, right? :)

We found the maps a few days ago. Dolphinling's post at the top of this page includes the one I think you are talking about. See page 3 or 4 of the last split for the others, including shopkeepers. ;)

Who remembers me saying a few days ago I lost my temple maps?

I'd just about given up on them, and decided to start re-mapping tomorrow morning after doing some of my cleaning... when I found them (in one of the 8 containers full of stuff I need to sort out x.x)

So I can now catch up =D

Gone, forever.

I remember trying to help with your re-mapping! Good find for the originals. The more who catch up the merrier. Good luck.

Crud. For some reason I thought that my colour was a grey pentagon, not a blue one, so I'm locked out for an hour. Ah well.

I know that a Starlight Potion (I think) was recommended to get a win - was that all though?

What about the people who started late on the LDP? I never saw an option for a real scroll like the 12 that others have mentioned. (i started the plot in early october)

There is no chance to get those old scrolls now?

those scrolls were given in random events. The information in the names related to our plot. But the items themselves were given without any preferences to plot acheivement..

You have always had as much chance as anyone to get one of the 12 scroll items.
