I just got the game today.
I began to play it and have just begun Tor's journey to Meridell. I'm stuck right now, though. The Gelert Prince just asked Tor to retrieve the rose for him, but I have no idea where the robbers he speaks of are located. I've searched all around. They aren't on the path behind me and all I can see ahead of me is a broken bridge which I've unsuccessfully tried to cross (I've fallen in the water a few times). Could anyone give me information about where these thieves are? Thanks.

okay, heres some help fer you:

The bandits are located on a mini-path to the right of the bridge, it dosn't really look like a path, but theres a cave down there, you'll find the rose in a chest.

You can get over the bridge by leaping around on the stuff down below, and making your way over to the other half of the bridge-I think. Its been a while since I was in that part, and my bridge is now repaired.
