Maybe it's been said, but if you look at it this way might make sense for was the diffuculty is hard to some.
Most non-battlers had the puzzle to keep them busy, while battlers sat out, waiting to battle. Now that the "first" part of the puzzle has been done, now it'll favor battlers, not some puzzle users who don't fight much.

That's gotta be why the difficulty is higher and harder to some users. They don't fight much, as some battlers didn't bother doing the puzzle. >_>

*farfect'D*

This is just another way to get points and probs ranks the same as if you were solving the tablet, or such, maybe they even give less points. XD

I hope that isn't directed at me. I am not complaining, just stating that it doesn't require a big score to get something out of the war.

Oh no! That was just being thrown out there. I'm horrid in battle! Sorry.

Armi wrote:Guess TNT finally did switch over to please the battlers. Blech! I hope users don't start that rank thing on the neoboards again.

I'm still betting that we will have another puzzle or something else to do. The city ain't back yet, so we may get to find a way to help bring it back. I also hope there will be an open declaration of hostilities, not just an executive order. I mostly want to do the support role again :D . Basic military 101: Amatuers study tactics. Experts study logistics.

 Ah, I see. It is hard sometimes to read things how they are meant. Sorry.

I agree, there are still more puzzles to come, TNT are just mixing it up a bit, trying to keep everyone happy. :)

Armi, you have some great points, and I am saying this not to shoot holes in what you said, but as an add-on, so please don't be mad. But, how many of the puzzlers also are good battlers? I do not want to say the plot is unfairly weighted to those people since we all have had the chance to get to that level. I know I could if I only spent a little NP. Oh well, I guess I miss out since I'm a little too tight with cash. C'est le vie. *big sigh!*

Nah, you got a point there, Sky.
I can name one puzzler that has a psycho strong pet. It's not common to see a puzzler that can battle.

My puzzle skills aren't that good(heck, I would have been lost on first clue for tablet if it wasn't for PPT), but I do have a battle pet. Yeah, it kinda would favor puzzlers that can also battle well. Maybe TNT didn't put that factor in?

I think TNT knew what they were doing. I can't battle so I get the points I can. Others can't puzzle so they get the points they can. I seriously think I could do both if I weren't a tightwad. Until the support role in the Maraqua that I really wanted to do a war plot. This plot has been fun so far and even with open hostilities, I still think this will be fun. If all else fails, the comics and this board will provide enough entertainment.

Yes, but as Armi pointed out, there are those that don't do puzzles, but come to PPT and other sites like this one, or *gasp* the neoboards, and simply follow along with the solutions. They are still able to participate in the so-called puzzles, and I assume they will get points for that as well.

Which brings me to my question - Are there any BDers out there that would be willing to give me some help via PM? I just can't stand the thought of missing out on what might be part of the plot, so I'd like to win ONE battle.

We need TNT to give us the foreman at a low enough level we can cudgel him!! That would make the battle part of the plot worth while.

Wed Oct 19, 2005 4:44 am

Wait....did I miss something? DId the war already start? I am confused....Who is it that we are battling? Usually there are challengers with different hitpoints so that everyone can have a chance at beating one of them but all I have on my challenger list from the LOST Desert plot is Scordrax and he has 150 hitpoints....I cant beat that! What other challengers are there?

All new and lost desert related... the last two appeared tonight

Qasalan Mummy 550 -1 1 0 1 0 0
Spirit of the Ruins 50 +10 11 10 0 1 855
Scordrax 150 +1 3 1 2 0 150

[Trying not to sound like a dope]I don't know what most of those numbers mean. I know the first ones are the difficulty, but the others o_O [/Trying not to sound like a dope]

Anyway, if this trend of new battlers keeps up, we might be facing Nightsteed and Jazan and definately more soon.

Truthfully, PPT lacks many battlers, in a way. Still most users do have common BD knowlegde if they fought in past wars, or such.

Sky: those numbers are just the record of wins, draws, losses and points earned for that kill. though not points for the war, mind you. =P

Though it's true battler that can't solve this puzzle could just get info, TNT did make it a bit hard or the lazy ones that couldn't stand doing the tablet, which kinda made they say "forget it" when it comes ot finding the statue, whicht hen makes them not able to pass the guards, which then makes then ot get to dig sand, move blocks, or put furtinture into the place. >.>
Mapping drove a few away.

I wouldn't be surprised if chalalngers appear and go away via the plot,s ince 1-players stil exists, there must be a catch somewhere.

I was thinking that about the new challengers. I can understand having the scorchio around after the battle since it would make a good DoN enemy. The Spirit is too plot related for my tastes. I wouldn't be surprised if this was one of two things: 1) a glitch that allows us to fight them early or B) a 'hidden' start of the battle that the battlers had to figure out. I believe the first one is more likely, but I'd rather the second one since it would stick it to everyone that has been sitting out.

PS: thanks for the numbers game. I thought that is what it was, but wasn't sure.

I'd almost forgotten about ranks last war. Almost, but not quite. More like a quiet rage. Anyway, during the last war you could earn more points and prizes for having a lower stat pet. I don't think anything could make up for the way things turned out, but I'm not going to complain if that means I can earn more now for having a strong one.

However, I'm still rather suspicious of anything being tracked without seeing the point totals myself.

Only most assume such from past. This is my first plot and I hear it is harder and different and we "will not have to choose sides."

How do you know I am not gaining MORE points from NOT fighting? o_O

I agree, in a way, this is just a balance, for those that don't have the brains or patience for the puzzles (no judgement intended of course toward right- or left- brainers).

coolnerd15: Do people really use those Snowballs and such in the Battledome? I have a slew I never used. Guess this is my chance to put those up in my Shop and make some NP at least (see, rewards either way). :D 8)

I guess I'm unique. I'm infinitely more a puzzler, but the lab ray has given my pet high enough numbers to also be a decent battler. Please note I said decent, not fighter extrordinaire. I'm not willing to spend the points on fancy weapons.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade, but I'm not sure if fighting the new challengers now is a good idea or not. The news has been out all extra early the past few days so maybe someone just got trigger happy and put them up before they were supposed to. That might be fine, but if we do earn points this way, their tally system might not be active yet so if you fight alot now, when it does go active, the opponent will be even harder to fight since they increase in hitpoints every battle you win against them. Just my opinion. As always, everyone can do whatever they chose to do.
