It's actually spelled "Hissi," which I think is a terrible name. Sigh.

I really liked your version, especially the whiskers. I'm hoping for some awesome redraws from TNT. I really hope they make the Darigan version look like Kastraliss. There could be very neat Royal, mutant, maraquan and Halloween ones, too.

In order for those to be really neat I think, they still need to meet that "not cute" moniker they've put on the Hissi (so far it's been more like "reptilian, but still cute")

Yeah, I agree with you. I was looking forward to a new uncute pet when they announced a reptile. The Hissi dissapointed me. Yes, it is a snake, but it is a cute snake. Keep the colour fill coulours cute, and the cute colours like baby and christams cute, but colours like Halloween, Darigan, and mutant have a ton of potential for being excellent pets that arn't cute.

Oh pift, who says they have to STAY cute in all colors? I'm quite certian theres pets that are "Cute" in the basic colors, but just plain awsome in colors like Darigan. Take the ashias, normal Ashia's are pretty darned cute, but the darigan Ashia, while keeping the basic Ashia look, is anything BUT cute.

I think a lot of their thicker lineart works are with Flash and some of the really detailed stuff (like wallpapers, etc) with multiple shading layers done with Adobe Illustrator. I do know they use those two cause I read it somewhere on Neopets once (what programs they used - not sure if they ONLY use those anymore)

And yeah, the best of both worlds is always good - photoshop has some neater effects like lens flare and stuff :P

On the topic of hissie colours, I'd love to see them try and do a chinese-dragon style faerie hissie. Something like this?

Image

XD; Please excuse my crappy lineart *not with it today and extremely sick* but that lineart piece I posted/drew from scratch was done on AI >.o (for those who've never used that program)

Only hopefully they're more more creative than my random horns and some hair *eyes it*

That'll be awsome if TNT made the faerie hissi look like that!!!

That'd almost fit my Serepity. If they can make them like that or like that other picture, than I may consider saving up for a faerie paint brush on that account too.

On the topic about art programs, I somehow guessed they used illustrator as one of their programs. I don't know I guessed that other than the sometimes awkward kinks in the corners that illustrator's pen tool sometimes leaves.

As for flash I haven't used it enough. I used it in a computer class, but I don't own a copy of the program so my experiance in it is limited. I just know if you draw a shape on top of another it fuses that way which makes editing sometimes annoying.

Photoshop- I suspect the battledome challengers were done in photoshop. I zoomed in on the Pirate avenger and saw some semi transparent pixel blending between colors.

Unfortunatly tnt didn't make the faerie hissi look as good as that. They came up with THIS:

also they revamped the baby nimmo. I like it. :)

*watches her pathetic attempt to snag a Faerie Paint Brush be snatched away by more inflation*

...uhm, since when was a snake furry...?

O_O Now I know what I'll paint the Hissi on my spare...

I don't like faerie Hissi, not one bit. it seems WAY too rushed, IMO. It could have been much better.
Baby nimmo..I'm mixed on it. I mean, it's a tadpole now,but the poses...again rushed.

I'm not a fan of rushed stuff, so I'm not happy with either colors.

Plus on baby Nimmo...TNT needs to redo this BG image.

If you can't tell why...well...you can't. =/

The Faerie Hissi looks fat in almost every pose. I don't like it. Nice colors, though.

The Baby Nimmo is cute! Hee.

I love the faerie hissi. Yup. I'd get one if I wasn't broker than broke.

Fri Jun 10, 2005 3:42 am

Ugh, TNT was on a roll! The faerie pteri, the faerie lenny... then this. You're right, it was really rushed. Pft... fuzzy snakes...

Hehehehe, the revamped baby nimmo is so cute! [pokes it] I absolutely love it! <3

BTW, it's furry cause it's suppose to be modeled for that Aztec god. I can't spell his name correctly, but he was in FF8. X_X

I think it's just too big, is it's other flaw. I mean the image itself, not the pet. Maybe if it was smaller, it wouldn't look so cramped.

Fri Jun 10, 2005 4:11 am

If only its head weren't so darned small. Or its body so darned fat. Other than that I'd like it, though its a bit difficult.

But the baby nimmo's great :D

Fri Jun 10, 2005 4:26 am

Quetzalcoatl, mentioned a couple pages back. It looks more like soft downy feathers than fur to me, but I'm never going to have any money if they keep this up. I think the new baby nimmo is much ickier and cuddlier.
