That's probably because people were using it as an abbreviation of 'password'. They block every form of that word.

Because it'll take tons upon tons of staff members to do so. Imagine the amount of Neomails sent each day. You'd need a small country full of people to moderate all of it!

A few times I've had the filter come up when posting on the boards. I have no clue what caused it, even after reading the message over. I've sent at least two messages for review and have heard nothing. I guess they didn't know either or they would have sent me a warning by now.

My guess is their filter takes out spaces and/or punctuation (possibly) in words, because people will try to get around them by spaces/dashes/dots/etc in.

Apparently, the phrase "bad" is blocked. I used it in my petpage, and when I removed it, it worked.

I'm sure it's the "bad as" -- the guild message filter does tell you the problem word(s), and that's what blocked my message about being on the Maraquan side this war (noting that at least this obnoxious Usul "hero" isn't nearly as bad as the last plot's).

I eventually had to say "my lupe" because she was a lupe at the time.
You think that's bad? I can't even type my own username!! (The same username as here: greeniebone.) I've tried it on my user lookups and also Neomail, and it blocks it every time. Apparently, "bone" is the problematic word. I'm terrified that I'll be frozen one of these days because people will think it is profane, even though it's just named after a darned dog treat!
And as my boyfriend pointed out, if "bone" is such a dirty word to Neopets, then how come they have a whole line of Bone Furniture and the like?

Maybe it's 'ebon' in your name?

Wow, never realised how errmm... dictating the filter could be
I understand the need to keep profanity off the site, but I think that if you are over 13 you should be able to use words like hot, throb and even the 'a' word (hey, it's used in Harry Potter, it should be allowed on this site

)((The one ending in two S's which also seems to be blocked here

)). How many 13 year olds honestly don't say hot?
Pffft...
