Neopets Toolbar

Aw, when did they get released? I wouldn't get the toolbar but I'd definately get the portal!

Basicly like 'My Yahoo' or 'My AOL'

that is something I question about the toolbar. It appears that you don't have to download the actual portal (read homepage basically), but what about the toolbar?

I recently updated shockwave and got an unpleasant surprise. The newest version also downloads Yahoo toolbar. First of all I don't really want another toolbar and second, I do use aol and it does NOT like other downloadable toolbars. Mine basically had a fit, disconnected, got this weird unknown something or other was trying to become my ISP...it was a mess. I did uninstall it, but recently in going through my Spybot there are still traces of the Yahoo. Why Macromedia did this is beyond me.

So if the Neopets toolbar is a download I may not be able to use it.

The portal? I don't have any problem with it, per se, though I don't know that I'm crazy about it showing how many np you have. Scammer paradise there.

There happens to be a very cool article about them in the new fifth issue of the Neopets Mag, which features a Island Uni on the cover, it covers everything you need to know about it.

Man I want the toolbar soo bad also the portal

I'm a tester for the portal (I still have access to it), although I declined to use the toolbar (I didn't need because I have a popup-blocker on IE nor the link ability.) It's nice, but it needs more customization abilities in my opinion.

I can also use the portal and the toolbar and think they're great. there are some things that annoy me, but i have filled in a number of feedback forms about them, so hopefully the stuff i've said will be changed

One of the things i commented on was the lack of customisability (is that even a word??!) of the toolbar, and if enough ppl comment it i'm sure they mite change it. I Also said that if they added a search box to the toolbar (like google) then that would get me to change to using it as my full time toolbar (which like someone else that posted on here is google) which is 'taking a break' at the moment.

For the person who got a virus and lost the toolbar - if you are registered to use the toolbar you can re-download it as many times as you want - i'm not on my normal computer and i re-downloaded it fine, and i recently reformatted my computer and re-downloaded it.
