As Rune said, the company that makes the ad is just trying to give you an incentive to click on it and have your computer invaded by spyware. I entirely doubt that you actually get a free iPod.
Of course, this is even MORE reason to get rid of the ad...

You obviously never saw the commercial...I was watching TV late at night, all of the lights off, and omg it creeped me out. It actually threw a newspaper at the TV to get it off...and I'm sure people even more freaked out by bugs did worse...

I'm pretty sure you guys are talking about the same commercial, yes? Oh, I remember that one... it was pretty unsettling. I smacked at the screen a couple times before realizing it was an ad. Yikes!
This is getting riddiculous. I love Neo, but all these trash ads with viruses (viri?) or WIN A FREE ____ are really starting to get on my nerves. I just saw the roach ad before coming here, and it didn't freak me out too much. I've got this thing with ants, though, and if I saw a swarm of ants that realistic on my computer screen, I'd freak. So I know where you're coming from.

That ad HAS to go.. it is one of the nastiest things I have ever seen on neo. First time I saw it I thought it was just a still image till it started moving about.. yes it freaked me out and it seems like that ad and the toon ad don't want to let up on me. Just about every other page is one of those two ads. 
Roaches and Silverfish have got to be the nastiest lil things in the world, even tho I realise I'm like 100 times bigger than the things they still freak me out and send me running in the opposite direction. *shudders*

No, I've seen the commercial... I ran to get my mom when it happened and we spent forever looking for it to later find out it was just a commercial. I'm just wondering why someone would sacrifice their big screen TV to kill a cochroach...

I'm hoping the ad was pulled. Since my last post I've only gotten it once. I'm a girlie girl. I HATE creepy crawlys. Watch now that i've mentioned that I haven't gotten it lately, it'll pop up all the time now.
