erp. sorry. messed up my cut-n- paste >.<

- Your personal gravity field suddenly reverses, and you find yourself standing on the ceiling for a few seconds, before crashing back to the floor.
- The room shakes, then all goes still.
- Your pants disappear! Good thing you're alone.
- The lights go out for a moment, then flicker back to life.
- Your hair catches on fire!
- A horrible stench fills the room, and just as quickly vanishes.
- The ghost of King Coltzan flies through the room!
- Lightning bolts shoot out from the walls! You barely avoid being incinerated.
- You suddenly feel very dizzy.
- It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a Grue.
- A mystical howling echoes in the distance.
- Suddenly, everything appears upside-down to you.
- The temperature in the room drops by forty degrees.
- You grow to ten times of one-tenth your normal size!
- Your skin cycles through a dozen random shades before settling back down to its normal colour.
- A thick cloud of dust appears from nowhere, sending you into a coughing fit.
- A loud thumping sound reverberates through the halls.
- A tiny storm cloud forms in the center of the room and rains for a few seconds.
- The stone beneath your feet turns to mud.
- A confused-looking Kadoatie appears out of thin air, then suddenly vanishes.

I've had:

I'm bored of pressing random numbers

And I've tried all combinations of room number/book number I can think of as spell numbers to no avail.

The room shakes, then all goes still.
Theres a few about upside down...and Coltzans ghost

/me thinks this post should split about 10 pages ago...I wonder which spell does that

My Theory:

I suspect that since the spellbook was found (9x12) in the archives as directed by the Archivist... and since his message hasn't changed after the discovery of the spellbook... there's STILL something left to do first. Random spells won't do anything right now until we find out what that is...

I was thinking there must be something to make his message change, like to register that we've found the book.

I think we should go and try speaking to him after every different effect, just in case one shakes the archives up or something.

Sorry, best I can do, I'm in a total brain meltdown.

But also he doesn't actually state that we need to get a book, just to look for the spell
"He shakes his head. "Of course, there are thousands of spellbooks in there... tens or hundreds of thousands, perhaps. I wouldn't know where to begin to find the proper spell. Finding the coordinates for the correct room, just searching randomly, would be... madness of some kind."

Hmm... I don't think it's that simple... some people have been plugging in spell numbers to no avail. And like bgryph said earlier, it would take forever to try all of them.

But then again the archives task seemed pretty insurmountable too. So who knows? Keep plugging, people!

You think maybe it's like the Collector's plot? Maybe we should be refreshing the magic shop looking for a spell to pop up...

Fri Jun 02, 2006 5:18 pm

Considering all the madness we have gone through up to this point I really wouldn't know where to look as much as we know right now every spell has as much chance as any other to be the right one.

Fri Jun 02, 2006 5:18 pm

If I just went looking for that blasted spell book for nothing heads will roll!

Fri Jun 02, 2006 5:19 pm

Excuse, me, but could somebody explain what the Avant browser is about and how it helps with the plot?

It missed me..kinda.

Fri Jun 02, 2006 5:19 pm

I think the archivist was right...this IS a madness of some sort

Fri Jun 02, 2006 5:21 pm

im sick of this archives book hunt. The archivist says we should find the coordinates. there must be somewhere where we get our coordinates. going through all the 3's is the same as walking around aimlessly.

if avant can make finding this book easier someone tell me how for the lovea pete
