Odd. I kept putting mine in the lit room that didn't look like the screenshot. Then I found the one that looked like the screenshot and it worked. Didn't have the key in it though, I don't think it mattered.

I'm not getting the message about the monster looking in the mirror. All of my items seem to be in the right places. I'm hoping this is not a repeat of the waterworks and valeous in the Altador plot.

My guess for the moment is that maybe the "monster" needs to sit down if he's dizzy. Perhaps the chair needs to be placed somewhere around the mirror so that you can actually talk to him. Of course, by "mirror" I mean "whole room."

There were two doors on the room with the chipped mirror effect.

And I had the food, mirror, lamppost, and key in the room.

My lit rooms don't look like that. Bummer, eh...I wonder if it's the room location, not necessarily the lit vs non-lit room...

Maybe you have to get him to run into the room with the chest and key in it. Not sure what the table and chair are for though...

yeah i was thinking that too... maybe once you put the items in the right room, and it looks like this is random for everyone, that's when u get the event?

Anyway, the grue reference makes me think we need to figure out something with the lighted rooms. Check out the paragraph in this article that starts "Grues were invented..."

I'm currently trying that out. I doubt it will work though.

I wonder if it has to do with direction that you come from, since he follows you.

EDIT: I seem to only make the event happen in a singular room

None of my lit rooms look like the screenshot - one has only one door and the other is shown >P so I guess I'll try dark

Got the reaction i was wanting from one of my lit rooms. I'm going to try to put the arrangement from the picture into my room with the table and see what happens.

EDIT: NM...not possible in that room...going to try it in the room with the chest instead

Has anyone gotten the "monster gets dizzy, sees reflection, runs off" event with the chair by the table? If some are getting it in unlit rooms...Well, it's a shot.

I tried opening the chest with the lamp post.... *bang bang*
