The problem with what you're saying, is that thats exactly what other people DON'T want. How would you feel if you were a poor kid, but loved Neopets. Then you discovered that all the good stuff on Neo is only available for premium members.

I can sense a Runscape coming along here. All the members get the best stuff, whilst the free game is nothing but a type of trial. I hope that TNT don't come to that, but it honestly seems as if thats the direction they're heading in.

And I know there's more to it than weather and stocks, but I sure hope they add more than just that. The current features just aren't worth the price in my opinion.

Exactly. I don't want anything but the ads to go away and maybe be listened to for a change. I wouldn't mind paying $10 for adremoval, but only if I could sponsor something like 3 other people off my 10 bucks. Regardless of what they may claim, aside from being an eyesore, the ads cause considerable lag on my already slow connection. I do have access to Firefox and Opera, but the way those browsers display images does something to my eyes and I can't click on anything done with javascript until the page is fully loaded.

It's only $6 bucks a month if you buy the whole year in advance. That's decent, but it's a lot to put up at once.

it is kind of alot but that is about $24 saving and once you have paid you dont hafta worry for another 12 months most people will find that better than $8 a month

Well, I keep going to the premium page, which they didn't bother to put on the news page, but I keep getting that it's not available right now. I'm in the U.S.

Question? for those who do have the premium. I'm fine with the portal, the email I'd never use ... is this all a download? As in, there is no way I'd want the toolbar. I have one with my ISP already, don't want to use up more space with another, and I just don't like the d/l type of toolbars - too much stuff comes up on my spybot.

So, do any of you with premium just have portal and email? When you sign up is the portal just "there"? Sorry for the dumb questions, but I can't get information on the premium page

Is the premium just for one account? I mean, Tim, the girls and I all play Neopets, if I signed up for premium, would it just be on my account or is there some sort of family deal? $8 a month is a lot and there's no way we'd pay for each of our accounts. That's just ridiculous, especially when the advantages aren't really much at all.

What I can't seem to find out at the Premium site is whether the portal and toolbar work in all browsers, or just Internet Explorer. Does anyone know the system requirements???

Ok, so last week when the discussion about this was raging, I said I'd gladly pay for Premium in order to support my favorite game site. But when I went to the page to sign up this morning, I couldn't figure out how to sign up ONLY for Premium, because I really don't want all the extra stuff (toolbar, portal, neomail, etc.). It just bogs my computer down, and I'd never use it. But I can't find any of that information. Then I come here, and find out that most of you have similar questions. So here I am, wondering why the heck TNT isn't keeping us more informed about this, if they want our money so badly. I mean, like I said, I'm more than willing to support them, especially if it gets that huge banner off my pages. But I want to know what exactly I'm paying for! Give me some options, TNT! *looks around for Adam*

I don't have a problem with supporting the site either. I buy Neopets merchandise. I have tons of plushies and trading cards(which mainly I just bought for the rare item codes). I would pay for the site if they chose make it pay only. I would even buy this premium thing if they added a few more features and I was sure I wouldnt have to have the toolbar thing. I was just hoping it had a few more features or a lower price.

I honestly wasn't sure if I thought the money/year was worth it or not - I mean $60 US is a lot more than that in $AUS But for one thing, I want to support the site if I can, as I spend so much time, and enjoy my time on it

Only thing you have to download is the toolbar if you want it

Portal is just like a home page. I set my browser's homepage to the portal, it's very handy - I love having it

As far as I have noticed, all the advantages only work on one acct - maybe you could make a suggestion for a family deal?

Portal works in all three of my browsers just fine (Opera, Firefox and IE) but the toolbar only works in IE

As for signing up for *only* premium - all those things are included IN the premium package

They did have a portal only pack - which is what I originally signed up on, but apparently it wasn't as popular as they liked, so it's gone bye bye, and everyone that had signed up for it got upgraded to premium.

I will renew it again next year

Edit again: As for the weather and stock of the day - the portal is *very* customisable - you don't need those things on if you don't want em Street directions and movies and stock of the day (RL one - not neo ) aren't needed on my portal, so I don't have 'em

I do have the weather though - cos I don't hardly watch TV, so at least that way I know what it's gonna be like tomorrow (Sunny and 21! ) A lot of people DO want thos other things though, so they are available - neo IS taking input from the players with portal - and they are adding modules that people really want

There's some features that I absolutely LOVE - like seeing what game scores I've made *this* month, not over all time I love having the multi-player games module, and the PT module, and well... I really really like the portal

Quite frankly I would pay $3 (US) for it alone, and another $3 for no banners, so I really DO think I have my money's worth now

... would be nice if I could stretch it to cover my gallery accounts too, but basically it's not like I spend a lot of time on t hem during the day
