personally, i would consider myself rich, but others would look at my accounts and go "haha... she's not rich!"
I have 8 painted pets, 4 petpetpets, and 5 painted petpets. I have 3 galleries that are almost complete and 3 completed neohomes that include furniture that I actually like. I have about 50-70K in the bank. I'm rich because I have what I want, and I am HAPPY with what I have.
Sure there are million NP items out there, but what's the point in having that 10 million np petpet when my 4 main pets all have petpetpets that would be lost if I took it away? Sure items look cool and I guess braging rights are sorta fun and maybe its exciting to have millions of NP in your bank account. Personally, I like my situation, and its rich enouigh for me!

1 million was rich for me, I think. I see others with millions upon millions of NP and I AM envious, but no, I'll stick with what I have.

I do try to set myself limits. If I'm going to spend double figures, I make sure it's an amount I can earn back

For me, rich will be being able to buy a hidden tower item without flinching.

"Rich" is relative, especially on Neo (or I guess any other game site). Like, all my pets are painted, they all have petpets - only one painted petpet though (still waiting for a disco huggy to match my aisha!). And I have a neohome furnished - not lavishly but nicely.
I have a gallery account and there's some good items in it, but not that many. My gallery pets are also painted.
But that's because I play games (on dial-up, rs'ing is impossible with the new system) and save up until I can buy a pb or a petpet or whatever. People assume I'm "rich" by looking at my pets and they're very wrong. Especially now that I've started training one of my pets - those codestones really add up quick, then add a half way decent beginner bd set ... Whew! I'm holding very little in pure.
Sometimes I feel "rich" - when I can afford to splurge on something for my pets or for a friend. Then there are times like tonight, someone has a fruit bowl in auction, asking 5 million for it. There's no way on the planet I could EVER earn 5 million np.
So bottom line - rich is what you make it. I'd rather be rich in good friends, doing things that make them happy and having my lovely happy, healthy pets than a really big bank account that's just sitting there while I look at it going Mine, Mine, Mine!

Rich is having some neopets. Having neopets makes you rich, because virtual friends that if you talk to too much will get you thrown in an asylum are priceless.

Being is having over 25 million have 4 nicly pets with high stats... a large large shop... so many rare paint brushes and items and ya well... wut more???

Same with high stat pets - unless you've had the lab ray or an older account or got really lucky and adopted a high stat pet. I'm finding out just how much training costs!

rich is being able to splurge on stupid 100k scratchcards, losing, or playing slots for an hour and losing all your cash on hand and being able to shrug it off. because you're comfortable enough bringing money into the economy not to worry.

Being able to buy a good pb without spending all your neopoints. Which I did for my Tiggi-kun. ^^;
I don't really care much about the np themselves, I care more about being able to buy the items I want. Especially gifts for my pets on their b-days. ^^;

Rich is a mind thing. A word created as another form a basis and judging. It all depends on how you look at it. You could have 100 million NP, all the gallleries, and a very sucsessfull shop, but if you still want more, you probably wont think of yourself as rich.
On the other hand, you could be a newbie who just found a map peice on the floor. At that point, you could think of yourself as the richest player out there. Remeber. It's all in your mind.

I can honestly say I knew I was rich was when I was finally able to purchase the baby paint brushes I had spent months trying toget for my kids.
Yeh, those shouts of happiness when they "found" the paintbrushes in their inventories made me the richest person in Neopia.
