OK, just a bit of logic: How do they know what you had in your SDB prior to the breakdown vs. what you had in your SDB after the breakdown? Because if they did know what you had in your SDB prior to the breakdown, wouldn't it make sense for them to restore it to that date and not to a date 3 or 4 days prior to that?
In other words, I don't think they know what we had in our SDB's then. So, how can they do something bad to you if they don't know exactly what you had at that time?
Just a theory of mine.
EDIT: However, I lost more than I gained. I lost all of the items I put into my SDB during that time and the gain from the extra items that reappeared doesn't come close to covering that loss. So, I probably feel a bit different than others who lost nothing out of their SDB's but gained an extra set of items.
I guess it should be up to your conscience as to whether you should or should not keep the items. I am keeping mine--but only to recover a bit of the 200K I lost. However, I probably wouldn't keep them if I hadn't lost anything.

Morningstar, that's a good point - it looks like there obviously either wasn't a backup or the backup was on the server/database that crashed (spectacularly it appears) ... so there is really no way to know what people had the day of the crash.
I gained ... nothing. Lost pre-uber inflated codestones I'd bought, a few bottled faeries for training, and the species bd items I'd bought for my pet. Luckily nothing top of the line, but I do kinda feel Arg paying 7500 for main codestones when I'd bought a few for around 5k.
If I did gain from the rollback? I don't honestly know what I'd do. I've never gained anything from any rollback, so I've never had to think about it. I guess once I knew everything was ok I'd use what I needed, sell alot of it and donate at least half of whatever np I got for selling ... probably to new peoples' shops buying overpriced junk to help them out and then donating the junk to the money tree.

No one got their SDB items exactly "Back".
They changed it to about 2 days before and you have the items in there that you had then.

Fwah, I still am missing my Neopets Year 5 Goodie Bag, I hope that TNT will learn from this and not have this happen again...
I feel sorry for anyone who made a big purchase before the rollback.

Lucky...I lost around 300k in gifts and other rare items... including a yellow paint brush which I won from the Fruit Machine (but which now doesn't count as a win because I don't have the item). The thing that sucks is that I sent out loads of items for the gift war, and received items...then all the items I received disappeared, but the people who sent them didn't get them back.
...I wonder if the PPT gift war caused the database crash?

Actually, I did get mine back--yesterday--at least the ones I specifically stated as missing from my SDB when I sent in my bug report. See: http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=9572. Other people did too--but it only seems to apply to people who sent in bug reports at the time of the SDB rollback and only for the stuff they specifically stating was missing.
