Absolutely crazy.

The last time I was given a warning prior to my freezing was, say, two weeks ago, when I had that "capitalization" incident? I had received nothing indicating signs of foul play from the Neopets Team. I'm certain I'll get my account back, but in the meantime Felrum_jelly_cube will be building his empire.

Omni, now I can't say if this is true or not, having only had one warning - for saying ebay (yes, I know Borovan, people don't get warned for frozen for typing just the word ebay ;) ), but what some people who have been frozen for "continuing to break the rules" got a second warning for the same reason.

There have been many boards about this, usually someone who's just gotten their first warning for something and is like :o. There are people who will post that they've gotten like 10 warnings for different things (and somehow seem proud of it?), others that say they've gotten 1 (or none) and were frozen.

A friend of mine got their account frozen for the same reason as you - the continuing to break the rules. What did they do? They reported when they found shops or guilds running contests, raffles, things like that and did report on the boards when she saw a scam (those alleged np generating sites, stuff like that). Well, she got a warning for "abusing the reporting system" and then a few days later reported a shop for a raffle. Frozen immediately, and was told that she would not get her account back, because she had broken the rules.

That bothers me, because she wasn't a "crank" reporter (though we had talked via email and I told her I thought she was reporting an awful lot) - you all know the ones who report for anything and everything. And it also bothers me because a well-known player was frozen on the same day for the same reason. They were actively harrassing a newer player, calling them the usual name(s), stuff like that. Got a warning, kept it up, got frozen. They got their account back 2 days later, and in the meantime were posting on one of the boards, kind of joking that it was taking a long time to get their account back.

All I can say is good luck, write in, be polite (which I'm very sure you are anyway) and I truly hope for the best for you.

Do this:

Neomail either support or the frozen thing. Asking for a proper reason why your account was frozen. As in a quote of the post you did to become iced. Then you can go from there. Since according to what you say. There will be no post they have to prove anything...

As they did with me. But I just gave up on it anyway cause I couldn't care less anymore. I just go on it on my new accounts just for fun and don't bother with making np much no more...

Is this alright to send? I still haven't received an automated response from my original request.

Like a lot of people I'm sure have come to you for help before, I've been frozen. My account, OmniIcyshelf, was frozen last tuesday for supposedly "continuing to break the rules after a warning was given." As far as I am concerned, I am not aware of any post that I made on the NeoBoards that broke the rules set up by the Terms and Conditions, and feel that my freezing was not justified. In addition, I did not receive a warning regarding the posts I made that night to indicate that the actions I was taking at that moment were to stop on penalty of account loss. The last warning I had received was for asking people to bump a board regarding a way to stop chain letters- and that was one or two weeks ago. In the interest of fairness, can I ask you to restore my account (And possibly keep my account from accessing the Other Worlds board again? :P)? I would be most grateful if you could do so.

I think I saw you once, in passing, Omni. That stinks.

...You can get frozen by posting 'ebay?'

I'll have to say 'pig latin for be' then.

Should I send the message to William, Vipada (Her name's different from that, but I'm not sure what it is), or someone else?

I'm sending a paper letter. It goes as follows:

I wrote:

I’ve been on the site for about two years, and lost my first account, Icyshelf, for breaking a rule that I wasn’t aware of at the time (trying to sell the account). It’s just that I don’t want to lose my second, greatest account and all that I put into it for a similar reason.

-(insert my name here) (OmniIcyshelf)

PS: Account info: Pets are IceBird_Gundam, FireBird_Gundam, Samurai_Fuji, I have about 276 items in my SDB, possess about 374,000 Neopoints, have an e-mail address of mailto:icyshelf@netscape.net, have 60-62 avatars, and my current age is 15. Most notably, I have a Pink Poogle Toy in my shop priced at exactly 133,700 NP.

PPS: Can you make an Icy Shelf? I see icy tables, swords, pops, snowballs, beds, and even speakers, yet there’s no icy shelf! I’d find it most flattering if you COULD make one.

PPPS: The folks at PPT say hi, and are currently complaining about banner ads and frozen accounts :) I’m concerned with the frozen support form- I have had to wait over two weeks, yet still have received no response for the request I sent, and am thus sending this letter.

Think I should add or remove anything? I'm just waiting for input :P

Hi

Nice letter overall. This is kind of how I see the letter? Feel free to use any of if or just ignore it

To Whom it May Concern:

I am writing you regarding my account, OmniIcyshelf which has been frozen.

My account was frozen November 2 for allegedly "continuing to break the rules after a warning was given."

To my knowledge, I am not aware of any post that I made on the NeoBoards that broke the rules set up by the Terms and Conditions, and feel that my freezing was not justified. I did not receive a warning regarding any posts I made that night to indicate that I was, in fact, breaking any of your rules.

I did receive one warning for posting on a board regarding a way to stop chain letters- and that was one or two weeks ago. If I have broken a rule, please know that I sincerely apologize, as it was not my intention to do so. I do my best, as do most people, to follow the Chat Rules and the Terms and Conditions of your site. In the interest of fairness, as I did not receive a warning and thus do not know what I actually did do that was against the Rules, I ask you to restore my account. I would be most grateful if you could do so.

My Account info:

Account Name: OmniIcyShelf

Pets:IceBird_Gundam, FireBird_Gundam, Samurai_Fuji,

Account Information: I have about 276 items in my SDB, possess about 374,000 Neopoints, have an e-mail address of mailto:icyshelf@netscape.net, have 60-62 avatars, and my current age is 15. I also have a Pink Poogle Toy in my shop priced at exactly 133,700 NP.

The reason I am sending this letter is that I’m concerned with the status of the frozen support form- I submitted the form over two weeks ago and to date have received no response.

PS: Can you make an Icy Shelf? I see icy tables, swords, pops, snowballs, beds, and even speakers, yet there’s no icy shelf! I’d be very happy if you COULD make one.

PPS: The folks at PPT say hi, and are currently concerned about banner ads, some vagueness in the terms and conditions and frozen accounts :)

Sincerely,

your name, address, email

In the account info, I would add what the pet species are next to each pet name, I'd also add if you can remember any neofriends, if you were in a guild, if you know it (I always forget) - your shop size, the last trade or auction you bid on/won, things like that.

Don't put anything in a letter about that old account being frozen for trying to sell an account - that's not going to help you get THIS account back, even though you have of course learned (the hard way) not to do things like that. And I don't think the locking you out of OW board would be a help either - kind of like, why would we give an account back to someone who can't control themselves? Not sure about adding the PPT stuff either ... I leave that up to you and any other feedback you get from people.

Good Luck!

Ooohh, snail mail might take a while. Depends where you live I guess. But if they recieve your letter, they're bound to unice your account, since you obviously care enough about it to write an actual letter.

I'd wait at least 10 days. Probably more.

Alright. Thanks for your support, everyone. I'd like to ask the mods to lock this topic.
