Personally I think they only brought that rule out to protect people against scammers who would offer to play a game for you and then steal your account. I would think that its ok for a family member to play a game, I shared an account with my young daughter for about a year and we both played games on it. Do your best to get your account back and if you do, then get your mum her own account to play with to be on the safe side!:P

I was just about to make this point. I'ts your mother!. I think that that's enough of a special circumstance that they should look at it. I don't know how old you are, but in general I think it's more than appropreate for parents to share accounts with their younger childern. So your game situation is a bit more exceptional than just having someone play games on your account.

If you have trouble getting your account back send a postal letter, or have your mother send one (that might work better)

Though I do think your freezing was overly harsh, I don't agree to your comparison. Letting someone else play games for you isn't like looking at a hint guide at all. Everyone knows that earning NP with games isn't something for which you only need some knowledge, you need lots of time and effort for it. Letting your mom play means you got NP without putting the effort in it. If you look at a hint guide you still need to make the effort to make NP. So I think it is in fact cheating. But a warning or a temporary ban would be a better punishment

Yes, I do realize that it's a bit more than doing that, my point was that it was along the same line. But regardless, I didn't put that in my letter, which I did last night. I haven't sent it yet, gonna type up a copy of it on my computer so I can send a typed version if my handwritten one gets no response. Maybe I could have my mom write a letter as well. Oh, and I'm 18.

You should have your mom write a letter also and put them in the same envelope.
Good luck!

How long did it take them to freeze it after your mom did that? I think someone might have been useing my account...some items just appeared in my inventory out of no where...and I want to make sure I don't get frozen later for that.

Well, it had been going on for about 3 days, but it was in the middle of while she was playing that I found out. She phoned me up and told me that it said my account was frozen.

It's not along the same line.

That's like saying getting writing tips from a writing center at school is the same as getting them to write your essay FOR you.

One way, you are learning the ways to do it better YOURSELF.
The other way, you learn nothing and are getting somebody to do the work for you.

You're an adult, you knew it was cheating, you suggested she play when you knew that, I think it deserves an ice. For once, a deserved ice on this board -_-

Just get a new account and start over fresh.

I don't agree.

He didn't ask her to play games for him. He suggested she went on her account(Which I don't think you should of done, but...) and when she did, she sent the score, which got him frozen.

He deserves a warning, if anything. Because, well, he didn't know she was on, and didn't tell her not to send the score - but she did, and through he did something wrong, he didn't really know too much about it.

Those who...Um...I don't know. Now... I've got nothing else to say.

Neopets will probably restate that you should never give your password to anyone, even family, in cases like this. :/ It sucks, but if you think that you were kinda asking for it- then it would best to not fight it. If you recognise that you might've been doing something wrong, then you had mens rea when the violation was committed. It's kinda like thinking that you might get in trouble for taking more money out of your mom's wallet than she told you take, but you still do it anyway.

I see your point for the unfair freezing but it's just not the same as using hints. It takes talent (for most games ;)) to win, and some poeple just don't have that. *cough* myself *cough*

The second he gave her his password, he was asking her to play, which he had to for her to play it on her computer at work.

Actually, there's one thing even I didn't know. I assumed that if she had been able to send score, I must have sent her my password, which would mean I had shown intent for her to send score. I didn't remember when I sent it though, but didn't worry about that, I was too worried about getting my account back. When I talked to my mom about what you guys said, she mentioned that I didn't tell her my password. The last time she had to go to work during the night, she had me go with her to keep her company. As she worked on blueprints, I got to play Neopets on her computer. I was still logged in when she played. All I had done was send her a link and told her to try it out. I really wish I wasn't so forgetfull (forgetting to log out and forgetting what happened in the heat of the moment.)

[edit] Oh, and thank you guys for having the heart to criticize me. You really sped things along :)

Ah ok. So then it was an honest mistake on your part, since you forget to log off on her computer. Neo might give you a pardon if they believe your story. :/ Good luck!
