The person that got frozen said she didn't even get a warning.

The message she got said she was trying asking for passwords, which isn't true.

I basically saw it happen, a person on the Neoboards created a MP topic, and she had posted in another board, I noticed her post was gone from there. I went back and the thread she started had be deleted too. Then, I went to the lookup, and she had been frozen :(

other information that Neopets deems, in its sole discretion, to be inappropriate for this site

That's from the terms and conditions.

Discussing answers to these competitions is frowned upon by TNT. Hence, the neopoint prize pool to give an incentive for those with answers to keep the answers.

I assume then that this new ruling will refer to the lenny conundrum as well and any game guides or posted hints on the neo-boards?
I look forward to the next plot since it will not be able to be discussed on the boards. If you take this to its natural conclusuion that is where TNT are heading...
Might as well scrap the boards....

i've noticed alot of the LC people have shut up recently, and their boards are being deleted.

Sat Oct 23, 2004 12:43 pm

But why all of a sudden? There were 5 boards of near 10 pages each last yesterday/night. It wasn't until we tried to start the 6th that there was trouble. O.o

Sat Oct 23, 2004 12:47 pm

Oh dear, I just remembered I posted twice on the second board, mainly to tell people what pics are not it. I hope I don't get frozen for those...

TOS or no TOS, if the policy of warning/freezing users for this "offense" wasn't enforced/existed in the past, and they now that TNT decided against it, it should be added to the TOS in plain understandable language, ie:

"discussing competition answers within chat (eg: Lenny C, Mystery Pic, etc.) is strictly forbidden and unbalances the game." Image

That should be done BEFORE the ice wand gets waved. Just my opinion though. Most of those folks probably lost accounts they worked very hard for, simply doing something that was "acceptable" since the creation of their account, and don't deserve getting a penalty unless the new rule is such stated to the public. Sadly, they've become the sacrificial lambs that have taught us all that a new rule has been placed. Image

Sad.

And frankly, had I had not slept last night, and made PPT my first stop this morning, it easily could have been my head on the block. Image

I feel for those warned/iced over this.

I said it once, I've said it twice, I'll say it again:

:P lol val love your smileys :)

and i have to agree with you, that they should give fair warning before they decide to start releasing the freezing bots.

and alot of people would have seen the 10 page long topics, and thought, those users are still there, it will be okay, and wham, now their accounts gone :(

It must be a new monitor.
TNT should really have put a warning in the news that discussion of MP on boards will not be allowed.
It is very unfair for those frozen or warned for doing something we have all been doing for years :(

Hopefully on Monday when the regular staff come back it will be sorted out - i imagine we only have a weekend skeleton crew and maybe they have misinterpreted something someone said before they left for the weekend.

The users who got frozen should be able to get their account back. I've seen alot of accounts getting second chances are frozen for inappropiate boards and continuing to break rules.

But I do agree, the rules need a major makeover.

Thing is, Jas and Alex had only started posting on the boards, when they were warned.

I, however, have not been warned. I've been on the boards, actively posting, since a few minutes after the MP was released. I've compiled a list of things the MP isn't (so far, it's over 1000 characters long, and can be found here), and if that isn't helpful towards finding the answer, I don't know what is. :/

The petpage hasn't been cleared, either.

So far, only one account has been frozen, and 3 warned. (Correct me if I'm wrong).

We're (the users involved) are hoping that nothing happens, and we've all decided not to post on the boards for now.

Why are some users frozen while some just warned? Living proof of irregularity and biasness in the performance of the monitors.

Sat Oct 23, 2004 1:05 pm

woah, thats really really not fair at all, :(

the person who was frozen, what did she do exactly? create a board or just post?

if she just posted, thats really too harsh in my opinion :( poor thing, and its her main as well? :(
