Hmm... maybe I didn't mention it in my post, but I'm not sad one bit :)
Actually, I am, i'm sad for my friends accounts being frozen. I never liked my addiction for neopets :)

I'm staying calm, in fact, I don't want it back very much, unless I can get it back easily.

I'm SO sorry you got frozen holly!! I wouldn't even know where to start on why you were frozen :o

I understand a lot about being frozen. I know the rules, how to get frozen, and how to get unfrozen. Thanks for all your support though, no need to tell me not to insult them :P

About the note on not insulting them:

I've always been on TNT's side, I never dis them or anything, I try to explain to everyone that you can't blame them, i'm even glad they took that 1 second to acknowledge us, even though it was a bad thing for me :P

By the way, this is my 3rd freezing, I know alot of neopets freezing :D Which isn't actually good, because that meand my friends and I get frozen a lot ;) lol

Nova, where exactly did you see these rules? Were they anywhere in writing on the site--like the news or TOC--or was it in a warning someone had been given? I am curious because my daughter is an avid avatar collector and I'd like to keep her account frost-free.

Morningstar,

I can't remember exactly where I read that - it may have been an NT thing? But yes, if you let someone else into your account to, say, play a game that you're awful at to get an avatar and TNT finds out, then you're iced and so is the person who went into your account to play it.

I wasn't frozen for letting other people get me avatars, because I didn't. I was frozen because an excellent restocker friend of mine used to send me codestones and stamps to help me out, and TNT froze him on suspicion of using an autobuyer, and froze me for being associated with him. I'm keeping calm too.. it's not worth the stress.

This whole you're guilty until proven innocent mentality on the site has got to change. So does the report this message on the boards - too many people clicking that link over nothing. There's so much that's just not right or fair on the site anymore.

Apparently they are big fans of Napoleonic justice, huh?

I think I could get livid if I let myself. Especially over the not letting someone else get you a game avatar. They should have alternatives for disabled people like me with 80% of the nerves in their hands dead then.

It's more a case of mob mentality. If a load of people mob up and report you, then they must be right and you must be wrong.
As for not having someone else log into your account and win an avatar for you.. how do they know this, specially if said person doesn't have an account with them? I could see it if they were doing an IP check, but, not any other way.

Amazing what one can come up with when one is given a cardboard box and a roll of duct-tape!

Holly, that just makes me ... sick, the reason they froze you. So your friend in question is probably one of the few wonderfully fast, knows what's great to rs and has the np to go for it, therefore he must be using an ab. Heaven forbid they stop for a second and consider he may have uber fast (like T-1) internet connection. And then, he falls under suspicion and is frozen, because he's sent you a few things (not TP, expensive stuff: codestones and some stamps?) -- now you're a cheater? That is reprehensible. You're not the first this has happened too, right Fid?

pencil, thanks for the link. I knew I read it somewhere recently, just get confused sometimes where.

vertigo - Napoleonic Justice, I never thought of it that way, but kind of, yes. I do play some games (mostly easy ones), with breaks in between. I have inoperable carpal tunnel with nerve damage up to my elbow. So I completely sympathize and empathize with your dilemma. And my game scores are nothing to write home about. If I manage 10k a day I've had a really good day of gaming. Typing here I use my dragon speak and spell, but I won't use that on the site. I'm afraid I'll be accused of using a program, like that would help me get ahead. I highly doubt you could use something like that to play a game.

raudf, I think what's happened is people have let others into their accounts, ostensibly to "help" them by playing a game to get an avatar. It's also a real easy way to lose your account if the person decides to take a look around and likes what they see. So the scam factor is pretty high on something like this, IMHO.

Also, as would probably be the case for me, vertigo and who knows how many others who either have a slow computer, aren't good at games and/or have a disability or problem more than likely does not have many (if any) scores high enough for the top scores, trophies, avatar scores. So that's kind of a dead giveaway that someone else IS in your account playing a game for you.

Let's say, for instance, your highest score on Meerca Chase is 500 (that's around mine - pure luck once and a fish negg)...you want that avatar, but you've never gotten above 500. Suddenly, you send in a score of 800. That, I think, is going to definitely raise a flag.

No, no one else should be in your account getting avatars for you. This I actually do agree with TNT on. I feel the same about people giving/selling/asking for donations or tips for the CocoRoller game av. If you don't have a cell or the right one, you just don't get the av.

Hah, that's just going to raise flags with their freezing system, period. Avatar or not. I was frozen for that very thing, long before they started the stupid avatar system!

Oh, I agree, but still, like I said about the games, they don't really KNOW that it's someone else, unless they have cameras. They probably figured I had let someone into my account to play it, which I hadn't, but I got extremely lucky at it just once and bam, it's frozen.
I don't disagree with their ruling, but I do feel that unless they can absolutely prove it, then they shouldn't even try. If someone is willing to take the risk of their account, I'll be the callus one and say, "Tough."

Everconfused - I know her friend, and he only has a cable connection. It's amazing how fast he is! You'll sit there in awe while he is copying and pasting what he is restocking, lol. :o

i woke up this morning to read that many auction snipers were frozen...it seems like if you are too good at something these days, you must be using a program.

I live in fear that I will leave Dragon Naturally Speaking on by accident one day, and get frozen for it. I'm kind of forgetful.

I understand it's cheating, and my scores are just abysmal because I've never had anyone help me. I just get frustrated because the difficulty curve on most of their games is so steep. And restocking is out of the question for me for the most part. I'm so slow at typing that people get irritated when I try to trade on the boards. I know why I've never been frozen! I can't do hardly anything! :roflol: Not true, but sometimes it does feel that way.

Woah.

Any shreds of respect I still had for Neopets have been eaten.
