The funny thing is, when I was visualising the story in my head while I was trying to solve it, I imagined the group as ogrins to begin with.

So how what was the logic behind this one?

"Ogrin" which was the answer, is the only species which starts with the letter 'O'. And if you look at the story, the first sentence starts with A, the second with B, and so on. The second last sentence "Now, what was the species of Neopet that was lost?" starts with an 'N', so logically the very last sentence has to start with an 'O'
