I love Neopets. I might complain about some of its little faults, but on the whole it's a very lovable little site.

But dude. If TNT thinks they're going to make a movie, they need a reality check. This promises to be a train wreck on a grand scale. I wince at the thought of someone, somewhere, someday having to view, by choice or by chance, such a terrible terrible film.

If TNT has any sense, they'll make this one of those straight-to-dvd deals - like Barbie movies, or other such merchandise-based junk - so that it won't be a total flop financially.

This is from RottenTomatoes:

"NeoPets: The Movie?

Posted by Scott Weinberg on Tuesday, Feb. 07, 2006, 01:01 AM

Scott Weinberg writes: "According to Variety, Warner Bros. has hired upstart screenwriter Rob Lieber to turn the NeoPets sensation into a feature length film ... much like they did with those crazy Pokemon flicks a few years back. (Ugh, sorry for the reminder.)"

And this is from Scifi.about.com, Feb. 10, 2006:

"Title: ?
Origin: Neopia
Scriptwriter: Rob Lieber
Producer: Dylan Sellers and John A. Davis
Director: Davis
Studio: Warner Bros. Pictures
Premise: CG-animated feature resulting from the studio's deal with the NeoPets Website"

When I looked up the names at IMDb, however, none of them had Neopets as something that they had in production.

A movie? Ugh. I can kind of imagine it right now. Some super sqeaky voice for an acara and a lupe. It's CGI too, so it promises to flop. (guaranteed flop or your money back!) I'd watch it but only to see how badly it sucks.
