Just another update on codestone prices...

Eo has dropped to a little less then 8k, which is good news in terms of deflation.

Main has gone up from 8k to 8.8k. This is ridiculous. Main now costs almost twice as much as other codestones. I'm complaining because I just received a requirement of 2 Mains and 1 Orn, and I almost cried. :D

The war is gonna bring the projected training prices up a notch. Each codestone now probably has an average cost of 5.5k.

New Cost = 49.665 mil NPs

Now that's a 4.5 mil NP difference from the previous analysis. Look how horrible inflation is, and what it is capable of doing.

Smart trainers take advantage of the rule that states HP can be 3x level. You can save a lot of NP if you train like this:

Level to 20 (one codestone)
Strength and Defence to 40
Hit Points to 60
Level to 40 (two codestones)
Str and Def to 80
HP to 120
Level to 80 (three codestones)
Str and Def to 160
HP to 200 (be careful here -- note that the next pay level starts 20 levels later, not 40 like before, so you can't train the max 3x)
Level to 100 (four codestones)
Str and Def to 200
HP to 240
Level to 120 (five codestones)
Str and Def to 240
HP to 300
Level to 150 (six codestones)
etc.

NOTE: You may not want to go exactly to level 20, str/def 40, etc., because you want to be wary of super bonuses. If you're training that last hit point and a super bonus gives you 121 instead of 120, it throws everything off. So perhaps leave one or two stats untrained (go to level 19, str/def 38, HP 57) in case of a bonus, or a faerie quest or a kitchen quest or random event.

Also, enough with the all-caps titles already! This isn't the neoboards. :)

Cranberry:

I hardly understand what you mean. If you have an end goal of 500 each basic stat and a Level 250 Pet, all costs and durations will eventually be the same. You're just trying to cheat yourself? Lol...

Maybe I don't understand your post well enuff... More EXPLAINATION!!!

:D

EDIT: My bad. I get you right now. So you're basically saying that you should train your HP to the max amount before you move on to the next stage. NICE... never thought of it.

Be careful though, because you might overshoot the next boundary and lose a bunch of money. This is mainly a problem on the 3 codestone stage.

Hee, yes. You get to train all those hit points for fewer codestones than you'd use with your method, so you save quite a bit of NP. You do have to be very careful, though, because (like theonlysaneone says) super bonuses or faerie/kitchen quest stats can push you into a new codestone level before you're ready.

Wait... why isn't that happening for me. My HP is at 74 while my level is at 38 [accursed lab, at least it hasn't sapped my other stats], but I can't level any of my other stats.

And anybody remember the gym?

You can train HP up to 3x your level, but then you can't train anything else until you catch up your level to half your hp.

The conversation's kinda moved past this, but I trained for about 2 months straight, added up the stats I had gained, and multiplied 20k per stat .....let me just say, OUCH. But luckily I was making just barely under 60k, the average amount I'd spend on codestones per day, so my bank account didn't go down tooooo much. But still, to think that if I had just ignored training, how much $ I'd have... ;.;
TNT needs to do something about the Main and Eos, if they have a better chance at being asked for from the school, or less chance of being handed out in REs... well... they need to fix that!

Gym? What did that do? *wasn't on neo when it was there*

The gym was a game that (If I remember correctly, It's been a while) allowed you to raise your stats.

Along these lines; I was always puzzled that you didn't gain stats from battling opponents. It makes so much sense in Neoquest that you gain experience for every opponent you fight (more points for stronger opponents), and when I first figured out that the BD didn't work in the same fashion, I was disappointed.

Even now, I still wish TNT would establish that kind of system; maybe training would still raise your stats more/faster, but battling could still give you a fraction of a strength/defense point for every battle won.

I expect that, in their defence, they'd say that the amount you battle in the battledome pales in comparison to the amount your pet "battles" during training at the academies and such (think of all those hours...). Besides, if training worked that way, it'd be un-fun beating up opponents over and over to train (and cliché, considering that's how most other RPGs work).

Sat Nov 25, 2006 4:36 am

Well, that could be possible(unless TNT has a hidden agenda to purposely force training to be so much harder).

For every BD battle you would have a certain chance to raise stats.

For example, you might have a 10% chance of raising all basic stats except Intelligence when you beat an opponent. Maybe beating higher difficulty(corresponding to pet's level), might give better stat improvements. Here's a plan: =)

For fighting opponents that are,
3 Str boosts and below you get 0.2 stat bonus.
1 Str boost and below ---> 0.5 stat bonus
Equal Str boost ---> 1 stat bonus
1 Str boost and above ---> 1.5 stat bonus
3 Str boost and above ---> 2 stat bonus

This could be a possible chance sheet for BD stat increment.

Shall we have a petition? =p

Sat Nov 25, 2006 8:22 am

No. A lot of battlers actually wouldn't want stats just raising themselves all randomly like that -- we like to keep our strength and defence balanced and not have an extra hit point shove us into a new codestone bracket or something. I would like it if we could cash in our BD points for training discounts at the schools instead -- if we could pick which stats we want to train.

Sat Nov 25, 2006 3:14 pm

Sort of conbining spire's and cranberry's ideas here. I like cranberry's idea of cashing in the points, as it takes away the aspect of unpredictability. But I'd think that you should get more points for battleing a stronger pet, and less for battling a weaker pet, like in neoquest. That way, high level battlers couldn't just go beat inflatable balthazar a billion times to train. At their level, the amout of experience/training points/whatever you want to call them they would receive would be negligable. But a weaker battler should be able to get training points from weaker opponents, as they obviously can't beat the harder ones.
