Isn't it possible that Hoban and Orrin are working together and in fact Orrin is hiding the fact that Hoban left the ship on purpose to search for the treasure on his map. By saying Hoban fell from the ship, Orrin has distracted the Captain and the rest of the crew into a pointess manhunt.

Just an Idea! :o

The way I see it, we've got The Captain's side of the story, Kentari (the weapon shop owner)'s side of the story, Chef Bonju's side of the story and Linae (Kou-jong runner)'s side of the story

Still to go are Orrin (Red Nimmo), the First Mate (Green Scorchio) and the Herb shop owner (Brown Ruki) to interview before the plot becomes exciting.

And with the pattern it seems to have set up...disappearing and reappearing once a week...that's three weeks before we can potentially do anything.

Uh mah gaaaad. *rolls around*

Not a clue, merely an observation of TNT's apparent rush to get the text of the plot out without editing (hasn't anyone in the office heard of Spellcheck)?

With all that's happened, it's not really much of a surprise for the Cyodarake's Gaze to end up in the Lost Desert, but a ship in the sand is still a strange site. To the Captain you go!

I guess my post is to go along with the theory that Hoban might still be hiding on the ship. Ok, so Orrin says he heard a scream and then a splash. That doesn't neccessarily prove that Hoban fell/was pushed out. It was during the storm, I'd probably be screaming my head off if I was on a boat in the middle of a storm. As for the splash...waves are crashing against the boat, how can Orrin disginguish a little splash from waves?

I have nothing else to do...

Speaking of everyone remembering/interpreting things differently: I definitely didn't think that someone had taken Linae's tile. I just figured she had been playing on the deck earlier and it had fallen. Because she didn't seemed too surprised - almost like she expected it might be there. Also on the "main" CG screen, she plays Kou-Jong on the deck.

Yes, and there were probably supplies falling off the ship at that time, too.

Yeah, really. Couldn't Orrin have heard screaming from somebody on board as a result of something else, or maybe he heard Hoban's scream, but it was from being taken as a hostage =o? And the splash from a Hoban-size barrel? It's out there, I know, but I'm out of ideas. xD

There were! If you look in the last box of the second page of the first comic, you'll see barrels and boxes tumbling overboard.

Maybe he was in the barrel, like in that cartoon with the hobbit people?

Fri Aug 25, 2006 7:41 pm

Like maybe he could have crawled into a barrel and then shoved himself off the ship on purpose?

Fri Aug 25, 2006 7:49 pm

Maybe he chewed his way out the side of the ship from below decks and that's why they had to patch a hole in the side of the ship. ;)

He did seem awfully mad I do think there is something more to it then him "falling off". Maybe he holds a grudge.

Fri Aug 25, 2006 8:07 pm

Maybe he dropped something in the water by accident, went to retrieve it and the ship left without him?

I think.... YOU'VE GOT SOMETHING THERE. Then, he quickly inflated his donald duck inner tube and floaties and safely swam to terror mountain? :roflol:
