I got the same message too... But when I scanned my computer I found nothing. Could it have been a false alarm?

I wouldn't waste my money on Norton or McFee... they are far too expensive. I think that if you have enough of the free ones, like AVG & Ad-Aware, you can more than make up for the quality that you spend money on with Norton and other payed Anti-virus programs. Besides, Norton clashes with lots of programs anyways...

No problem! Someone passed the word on to me, so I am paying it forward! My main problem is that I refuse to put my firewalls up very high because I download torrents, and it really stinks to have to manually raise and lower the firewall for every torrent.

Careful though, Ad-Aware does not protect against viruses and trojans. Same with any spyware cleaner. You have to rely on something else as well.

It's really best to buy virus protection...you can't always trust free stuff to do the job right, you know.

AVG is definitely an anti-virus program. I trust it well enough, and it has served me well. Trojans and Viruses now cower in fear at my... well, nevermind... :D
