I've never gotten the "nothing happens" outcome. It must be just coincidence. Don't let this string of bad luck give you a bad idea about the lab ray. The lab ray is pretty awesome. I have over 400 hit points and I'm just about to hit the 250 strength boost just from using the lab ray. Not to mention I've had several very awesome color changes. Over time the overall outcome is good.

Well, the lab ray is really good to me on my other 3 lab accounts, its just my 4th that gives me the problems. Well, it didn't start until I pounded all my old pets and made a new one. Maybe an old account doesnt like having a new pet. xD
edit: I think the streak is over. I just labbed mucus and he gained 2 levels.
