It's not like turning off the pictures definitely makes you more likely to get the items you want - someone else might be better than you at identifying pictures quickly, even without turning off their images.

I would say that people who have DSL or a T1 line have a distinct advantage over those who can only afford dialup, yet there are many successful people running accounts - and restocking - on dialup. Yet it is not considered an unfair advantage to have a faster connection, a faster computer, and so on. Furthermore, Firefox is free, so anyone that actually wants it can have it.

Still, the operative thing is that it's not doing the actual work for you - you still have to load the page yourself, make the determination what is going to be profitable, click fast enough, haggle properly, and then sell the thing at the correct price that will be profitable and yet allow the item to sell rather than rotting in your shop.

Now, if Firefox was figuring out which images didn't make a profit and adblocking them for you, well, that would be a problem!!!

Editorial, Neopian Times #230 wrote:Rule Bending
Now everyone knows Neopets has certain rules. If not, read your Terms and Conditions! Now, even though it is long and boring, we cannot list every single thing you can possibly do to get in trouble. People are creative, and are constantly finding new ways to cross the line. The most important thing to do is understand the spirit of the rules. Just because we don't explicitly say, "You can't say platypus on Tuesdays!" (yes, it's a silly example, but you get the idea) doesn't mean it is okay to do it. Here is an example:

In a past Editorial, we said it is okay to use adblockers on the site since people were concerned it could be considered a program. We told those folks not to fear and that using a program such as that to block ads is perfectly acceptable since it does not give you an unfair advantage over other players. A few unscrupulous people took this statement a little too far, and twisted our words to try and condone the use of this program to gain an unfair advantage. Yes, we did say it was fine to use this program to block ads, but using a program such as that to alter the game in a way that gives you an advantage over others is definitely NOT allowed and that is quite obvious. Remember to use common sense, and don't try to use creative wording to make your own loopholes in the site rules.

The print section is to make it print out all nice n purty.

Then, once you have taken a while to fill it all in, you can print it out and have the pages on your desk in front of you. Basically, if you take the time to fill this whole thing out, and use it for a while, you'll get so that you don't need it.

For instance, there will be some things that you can remember immediately as you fill it in.... Edna the Zafara stamps are worth 88000 np sticks in my head. or Green Kiko Lake Sticks are selling for about 1000 np. Don't ask me why those ones stuck in my head... they just randomly did. You'll have some random ones yourself.

Then, when you go into a shop and find an item you haven't seen before, and take the time to look up the price, and find it was unbuyable.... you'll think, wow! I have to memorize the look/name of that item! I gotta remember that! You will not remember everything that you go "wow, I gotta remember that", but once you look something up in your spreadsheet enough times, you'll start to memorize it.

Sometimes I have been tempted to buy something without consulting my sheet, because it looks valuable and the shop cost is high (like a purple collectible card).... and it turns out to be a bomb! I lose 1200 np on it! ACK! I wish I had checked first!

So yeah, it slows you down to start off with, but as you use it, you won't have to look to see if that Kauvara Bed has a good return, because you'll remember it's bold AND red! :)
