Question: is anyone seeing this who doesn't have Premium?
Are people who have Premium seeing it?
I ask because I know the user who posted about this on NC has Premium, while I and a lot of other people there aren't seeing it. We;re starting to think that it's Premium-only, at least at the moment.
If Premium is beta-ing this that's one thing, but if this turns out to be a Premium-only feature I'll be ticked. After the latest set of cookie-grabbers, basic account security is something Neopets owes ALL its users, not just Premium.

I was premium, untill today. Dunno why they decided to cancel my premium now.... Wish I could test it out though, sounds usefull.

It's a nice thought - extra protection for these areas.
But if someone has access to your account, how will it really help? Won't they just be able to request the PIN number via email (after they change the addy to their own, of course)? Unless, they use some other way to obtain a forgotten PIN (one of my guild members suggested a secret question) I just don't see how it will be much help.
I'm guessing that the idea would also include NOT storing the PIN in cookie format, as protection against cookie grabbers. If that's the case, won't that mean having to enter a PIN every time you want to get something from your SDB? That just seems like a pain to me.
I like the thought - I just hope the beta testers provide some good feedback on the functionality of the idea.

Sorry, but this is only available to the beta testers of the Neopets Portal
Guess it's not for everyone then.

While I do appreciate TNT's effort to help keep our accounts safe, and while I do think this is a good idea, I'm still a bit skeptical about how efficient this system will be.
I don't mind memorizing another password, but will separating the accounts into chunks really make a difference if a cookie grabber is involved? Wouldn't the stolen cookie file(s) contain all the information anyway?

I think cookie grabbers just put them straight to your account by using your cookie to be autologged in. However, I pretty sure they cn't take the pins.

It'd be easier to make the pin not "cookied". A 4 number pin code is not hard to remember... I have a bunch for ATMs, online banking, school registration, etc... it's not that hard to remember 4 numbers. I wouldn't be opposed to having to put them in when I want to do something.

I think that is a good idea, and at least TNT is trying something new to deal with everyone's fears of being robbed..

I'm not premium. not seeing it either.
But, i really like this, and I think that they should have implemented it a long time ago. Better late than never though. Anyway, we need the PIN system at the Bank and SDB for sure. It would be nice if we had it on Galleries, Shops, Pound, Unequipting Items and Albums. Also, they should make it optional, so that people can't complain that it is an annoyance to have to type 4 numbers in.

Ooh, the battledome equipment area, bank, and shop ask for a PIN, too.

That is excellent I think. Really liking this system.
