Ok, you asked for it. Here is my whopper of a theory. Feel free to shoot it down, if your "bullets" don't fly right through the holes already in it.
Amulet of Thilg
A blood red stone, set in twisted gold...
...this amulet was first discovered, deep in the pyramids of The Lost Desert, by a group of researchers. The following is an excerpt from the expedition leader's journal:
"The mere presence of this strange artifact gives me chills, like someone is standing behind me, breathing on my neck, yet when I turn around... nothing. I will not feel comfortable again until we safely deliver this cursed item to the museum.
(It seems the research group never made it back to the museum. None of them were ever found.)
The guides we hired are wary of it as well. They fear it is "shkanum-da," an item whose legend I will now record here:
Long ago, a demented and evil ruler ascended to the throne by birthright.
(Razul?)
The Lost Desert suffered under his rule, that is, until by either fate or luck, no one is sure, quarry workers unearthed a forgotten tomb. There, they found an ancient scroll of powerful dark magic.
<<< Doesn't this sound an awful lot like what we just did? Hauling sand to unearth a Repository; then finding a Mysterious Scroll.
...most claim the spell trapped him in a block of crystal, except for a single drop of his blood, which fell to the ground and crystallized into a gem of deep red.
The pharaoh's son
(Jazan?),seeing how his father's cruel reign had led him to his own vicious demise, hid his dark heart from his people, and ruled in false fairness. However, he would have his revenge on the citizens of The Lost Desert. The night of his father's death, he took up the crystal of blood and set it into an amulet. Placing a curse upon it, he hid the amulet in the tomb of the great pyramid, and waited for its time to come... "
<<< Perhaps there is an Amulet for us to find in the Temple?
Also, interesting to note, the Bewitched Ring TCG Card in the Darkest Faerie is not easily accessible from where it should be (perhaps someone can find/post the link from the imager server if one should be found to exist?)
Question: Is Thilg an anagram for Light? (Even if so, what does it mean?)
Another question: Is "shkanum-da" an anagram for something? It is described as a cursed/feared Item, but I am not sure what in the descriptions following it is referring to, the Amulet or the Pyramid, etc.
Oh, and the Amulet of Thilg TCG Card quotes this, "Gilly held the amulet tightly and tried not to think of anagrams."
