If I paid attention to the official sizes, my (baby) eyrie would be HUGE and my cybunny would be teeny tiny. I prefer to think that in real-life, my lupe would be approximately wolf-sized and my uni would be like a small pony, and the rest of my pets would be smaller. I made this rather lame copy-pasted picture to illustrate what I think are the relative sizes of all my pets and their petpets (which are all the same size because I think of petpets as ranging from cat to small dog size).

I know petpetpets are "supposed" to be flea-sized, but I think that's stupid. ;)

Oh dear--I just realized that my Lupe is less than 2 feet tall(57 centimeters, around 22 inches) and weighs 128 pounds. I measured my dog, shoulder to ground, and he's 25 inches tall and weighs ~100 lbs. My Faerie Kougra, born an Eyrie, is 169 centimeters tall, about 5 foot 7, and 127 pounds. Taller than me, yet lighter than my Lupe. Still heavier than me, though: 3 of my pets outweigh me.

That is pretty hair raising. My little Zafara is as tall as my dog (.35 m) and at least twice as heavy (38.5 kg)! My Shoyru is tallest at .69 m, which is up to the middle of my thigh (I'm about 1.8 m). Miy lightest pet is my Aisha at 21.3 kg, still heavier than my dog.

I agree with everyone else. We should just throw out the measurements given and just assume some sort of natural scale that greater minds than I can make.

Wow. I hadn't really considered exactly HOW big an Eyrie as tall as me actually is when you consider how bulky they are. I mean, I'm not as skinny as my doll, but still.

I'd always envisioned my Eyrie small enough to sprawl out on a sofa (though taking the whole sofa to do so). I think I may have to revise my estimates of her size down a bit.

I think I should have made my Aisha smaller in that picture.

I thought my Jetsam was just a freak, being only 19 cm tall, but apparently it's only slightly below normal for Jetsams. o_O

The species sizes haven't been official since practically year two. They're just something that's NEVER been updated, and would probably just be removed if anyone on the staff cared to notice how nonsensical they are.

The idea was probably that they'd be born tiny and grow over time, but they never did anything with it.

The only reason I'd see them keeping them is for a guide incase they were ever to make a movie and would have to scale them. But otherwise, yea, I think they were for neopets to grow because in some ediotrial somewhere there was the question of why Neopets had baby next to them in the image url and they said that the original intent was for Neopets to grow and mature.

To be honest I've gotten to disregard their "official" sizes and make up my own scale for them. For instance I imagine my rukis being the size of regular insects and my gelert the size of a medium to medium-large sized dog. My grarrl is around 10 feet.

If I went by their "real" sizes my rukis would be bigger than my gelert :o and they were all created as the pets they are. I don't have a lab map. The grarrl I adopted was likely a lab pet. It is only 30 cm. I rather go by my own imaginary scale thank you very much.

Let's see, my kacheek would come up to about my knees (he needs a booster seat...), my shoyru and scorchio would be about the same size, probably coming up near my chest. My lupe would be about the size of a large dog, so a little over my waist when on all fours, about my size when on two legs.

This is how I figured my pets to be http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/3306/neosize6py.png

I guess I think big, since most of them are rather large. Oh well. xD

Yea, the original Flotsam and Jetsam were goldfish sized until they were redrawn. The Eyrie also used to be a Cerpull (big dragon thing) so that can explain it's gigantic size. (The Cerpull also became a Tatsu before changing into an Eyrie but I won't elaborate much on this since Neopets seem to focus on the original). I don't think it's strange for an Eyrie to be that big since they are supposed to be like gryphons and gryphons are huge aren't they?

Sorry for the brief Neopets history but I thought it would be a good way to explain things.
