Even though having your pet dating another pet is against the rules, I see it a lot.

It's not against the rules to have boyfriends or girlfriends, it's against the rules to talk about it.

And actually, I haven't seen any lookups like that. O.o;
Mostly I see sisters and brothers mentioned.

It's actually funny then some of them actually put thier "Wedding Rings" and "Boxes of Candy" in their shops priced at 99,999NP. Haha It's funny stuff i tell you.

There are some which are so bad until they post their PICTURES of themselves kissing..etc (The neopets not the user!!!). They drew them. If only they invested their talent somewhere else they may win a trophy or two.

I've never seen someone draw a picture of two Neopets kissing! That's a bit extreme, I'd think. D: Some people take it a little too seriously.

I just can't wait to see if two owners will make their pets break up.

The whole dating thing is really a double standard, if out pets cant date... why do the LDP heros appear to be dating. (of course... why do they wear clothes. Thats what distrubes me... because my pets dont, so mayby they shouldnt been seen with other pets) But TNT is picky, if you see someone doing it, I personally wouldnt report them, but dont be surpized if you do it and get frozen.

i don't see the problem with pet dating either. i mean, it's a little silly and stuff, but as long as the pets aren't like, consummating their relationship or anything obscene like that, isn't it just another form of role play?

i mean, our pets can fight and injure each other, but they can't be boyfriend and girlfriend? seems a bit backward to me.

You have to remember, Neopets is based in the USA, where violence is always more acceptable than sex. (I'm not sure about other countries.) Just a little of the latter will push a movie to a more restrictive rating faster than a lot of the former.

Besides, if boyfriend-&-girlfriend were allowed, girlfriend-&-girlfriend and boyfriend-&-boyfriend would be inevitable . . . and the foofarah over "gambling" on Neopets from the Australian press would be nothing compared to the firestorm that would unleash. (Congressional hearings -- I kid you not, I think it would happen.)

Well of course the real problem is if they get married, get petpets, things don't work out and they're headed for a divorce... then lawsuits will follow, petpets will be forced to choose between the pets, and not to mention the distribution of the neopoints. Will daddy neopet pay for the petpet who lives with mommy neopet?

Love that response. If anyone ever bugs me about it, I'll have to use that.

*shrugs* I've actually seen mature, 'literate', quite friendly and experienced Neopets players with their Pets having 'special someones'. I'd do it, just for the roleplay opportunities (no, not THOSE kinds!). Eh, just brings up more roleplay ideas I guess. I'd like to have a 'range' of friends and enemies/rivals for one of my Pets. Needless to say, I wouldn't take any of it seriously. In fact, I doubt many people do who are experienced in Neopets.

It's odd, I dislike hearing Neopets being a couple referred to as 'boyfriends' and 'girlfriends'...probably because I associate it with the despies you see on the Neoboards.

Overall, it doesn't bother me. As long as it's between those people, as long as it's suitable for a site with people ranging from eight-year-olds to adults with their own children, I'm fine with it. I pretty much just report whenever someone has stolen some artwork and whatnot. Now, I still think the Team should leave the rule up and enforce it with people who look like they're taking it overboard ("HAWTT LUPESS L@@KIN 4 HAWTT SEXAY LUPE!!111", for example...haven't seen any -that-..er..enthusiastic...at least not since the GC was taken down...though I've seen a few bordering on that). I don't think people should be reported for it...just people who're going overboard...even though everyone doing it SHOULD, because it's against the rules, I just don't because it's not really hurting anyone.

If they mind yours, they'd have to mind mine as well. XP

I rememebr when i first started.. which was way too long ago a couple months after neo started.. anyway

This girl kept asking me if my lupe could date her pet and well it urked me as I left chatrooms to stop all the "dating" crap.

But i finally gave in to shut her up and it was this hole huge thing. She like invited people to this "wedding" and all this stuff and got mad because i didn't show up

In the end she divorced my pet because He didnt' pay attention to her pet enough.

Shortly after that neo made it against the rules and i was overjoyed

People get wierd about the oddest things
