Yes. Some blocks are partically burried.

Am mad that I took awhile to solve this when it really wasnt that bad. Oh well. Im almost postive my answer is right. one hundreth of a meter. hundreth is a fraction, also the whole pryamid is 67 meters high, so rounding to the nearest hunderd would be silly. Answer would be 100 or 0.

My answer is not in the form XX.YX. It is four digits long, but they arent all the same like that.

Rembmer that until units which go

units, tens, hundereds thousands

in decmails you go
tenths, hunderedths, thousandths ect...

so the hundredth place is rounded to 2 decmail points =)

Don't you mean 63 meters, as pyramid is 100 blocks * 63 cm tall?

Anyway... I have a totally divergant answer from the people that have XX.YX or XX.YZ ... I think you might be confusing levels with actual height. My answer is XY.ZY, if that helps anyone. :}

I'm gonna submit my answer now and see how well it fairs.

Yeah, I had used a formula similar to yours to find my answer before I realized the cool way to do the LC last week. I do remember verifying your answer last week for you. :)

I luckily had kept my formula in my spreadsheet from last week ... so it made my work this week a little easier.

Not 100% sure about my number this time ... but I have an answer I have rechecked and got the same answer. :)

I have an answer that looks like XX.YZ

INDEED! i made a mistake! it IS XX.YZ. goshh. and it was a really careless mistake. ): ): there goes my 3x champion trophy.

Well, at least someone is agreeing with me. I was beginning to think I must have made a mistake I didn't catch upon rechecking.

Have the XY.ZY and XY.XZ people rechecked yet?

I just focused on part of the surface area... I'm hoping that the other part of the overall surface area is a fixed ratio to the part I used...

The answer was leaked out on the Neoboards. So i will take this time to give and explicit formula for finding the answer.

Neomania: This would be a great post to post *next week*. Just because an answer has been leaked out to the Neoboards ... giving a way to find an explicit solution here is wrong.

Just my thoughts.

How to calculate :
from top : 63 x 97 x 100 x 100 / 10000
from side : 4 x 97 x 97 x 5050 / 10000
5050 is 1 + 2 + 3 + ... + 100 (to calculate : (1 + 100) * 100/2)
(total top + side) / 3 ~ 7252

err I don't really calculate this time just remembering what I did btw I got the prize :)

Is something wrong with my calculator?

.63 * .97 * 100 * 100 = 6111

4 * .97 * .97 * 5050 = 19006.18

Sum: 25117.18

25117.18/3 = 8372.393333 liters, not 7252?

AySz88,

the numbers in those calculations were swapped around (63 is the height, not 97). It should have been:

97 x 97 x 100 x 100 /10000 = 9409
4 x 97 x 63 x 5050 / 10000 = 12344.22
Sum: 21753.22

21753.22 / 3 = 7251.07
