Not sure how many digits long mine was (I didn't count) but it took me a few moments to remember how to do this sort of thing.

Mine too... and since I don't have a 20 digit calculator, this was a pain to figure out. Very tedious, ick.

They always said skeiths werent so bright... i upset than I didnt know the dimentions of an armada board... and thus that part took me half of the time. Still solve in under 15 minuts... does that mean I get a silver trophey?

By 19 digits long, did you mean you got a number that was 10^19? If so ... that number actually has 20 digits.

I'm beginning to think I calculated it wrong. I think I didn't think about it long enough. In fact, after actually playing a game of armada ... I'm pretty sure I did calculate it wrong.

Darn, a math problem I messed up on as well. bleck.

Mine is 21 digits.

I checked it a few times, didn't seem to make any mistakes.

Darn. :( I've just recalculated it.

My new answer is indeed a 21 digit number.

That's what I get for trying to be quick about it, I guess.

Nice job yptee, if you have the same 21 digit number I came up with!

I haven't even started looking at this, but:

Quote:
If it takes him 30 seconds to set up and then empty the board each time, how long will it take him to set up every possible combination? Please round to the nearest year.

How are you guys getting such a high number?!

Hm... im still getting a 19 digit number. Could someone who got a 21 digit number please PM how they did it-i can see where one of us possibly went wrong...(note-i used a high powered comptuer calcuator to solve this- i dont think theres a hole in that part of my math)

edit: shoot... i see how I miss counted now  -was in a rush to solve it as I knew I had to go soon... and then eneded up not having to go-oh well... *hopes the NP payout isnt too high*

Yep, 21 digit number. I got a fraction of year at first, but then checked my math and got a huge number.
