on firefox you can disable all flash and have a button you can press play when you want to see it... like on games and stuff... the small hassle of having to click them is outweighed by how fast everything loads. The extension is called Flashblock

sounds kool but may be kind of annoying when i go to play games, since using firefox neopets seems to run like 3-5 times faster if not more, on IE felt like it was lagging all the time and neoquest 2 was unplayable cause it was just soooooo slow, the ads don't bug me to much, now if there was an option to always allow certain flash things to run all the time without the minor hassle of a button then that would be neat

Adblock works with Netscape too. Also, once you block a flash ad with Adblock, it shouldn't show up again.

I have flash ads blocked with firefox by just blocking the iframes they run in as well as their originating urls (unless you are talking about the little ones on the left sidebar?). When you manually block stuff with firefox rather than or as well as using the adblock extension then you can block everything :D I'm sure you can do it with just adblock as well, I'm just used to the old-fashioned way, hee x)

Actually, if you have Spywareblaster, you can check something off there that will disable Flash content too. Problem is, if you're playing games or doing something else that needs the Flash, you'd be spending alot of time checking and unchecking the box to enable/disable. I believe IE has something too in Internet Tools. I know you can completely disable java in IE.

I don't really pay attention to the ads. They don't bother me enough to look at them.

Does anybody remember when Neopets said the ads at the bottom of the pages were only temporary and they are just testing it out? Yeah, I remember this clearly. How convenient of them to FORGET. ;)

Those are the worst. When I'm using netscape or mac ie it allways layers over what I'm trying to do... It's annoying.

Yeah, also the person who said they were bothered by the ads were the one who coded and picked which ads to put on the site. You would think a banner ad is enough revenue but apparently not, they had to add one more at the bottom(read somewhere a side one is in the work).

An established firm like Neopets could set up an advertising department or hire some ad personnel and look for advertisers related to kids/ gaming instead of rotating ads from notorius internet advertising firms which damage their image.

Here's another thoroughly un-good ad:

That's good for the kids to see. Right.
