I wouldn't be happy with that. I'd be quitting Neo faster than anyone can say "Bye bye", Coco Roller was bad enough but at least if you can find someone nice they can give you a code. Having something available only to Premium members goes beyond that.

When you sign up, you find out that it's the same avatar anyone can get through regular on-site neomail. If TNT is not going to give Premium members their own special avatar, they need to either remove that from the list of benefits, or modify the Neomail Addict avatar so that it can only be obtained by purchasing Premium from now on. Otherwise, what's the point of promising that at all?

That coco roller avatar was UNFAIR. Only americans could get it and if you get a code now and u live in australia u cant enter it because they changed the australian version of http://www.neopets.com/mobile. Now all it is some wallpaper downloads for your mobile.

Actually, I'm from Australia and I had the same problem with not having anywhere to enter the code when I tried to get the avatar on an additional account. If you go to Google and type in "coco roller" and then where you've got the "Neopets - Mobile Phones!" option don't go to that link but go to the relevant "Cached" link (a previously saved version of the page). You should then get taken to a page with the box to enter your number on (just make sure you are currently logged-in to your account in another window)It worked when I got the avatar a month or so ago, good luck!

And I don't really see how you could be angry over the coco roller one... it was just plain ugly

Well, to collectors it matters. It would be another avatar that some people would never be able to get, either because they can't pay for Neopets or they aren't willing to. You may say "Oh well, whatever, no big deal" but it IS a big deal to people who really enjoy collecting avs.
*shrug* Like I said before, I can see it from both sides. As a Premium member, I wouldn't mind getting an exclusive av, which is something I was promised but never received when I signed up (especially since I already had the Neomail Addict avatar). But I also see where it's very unfair to non-Prems, and for that reason I hope they don't do it.
Maybe a better solution to the problem would be giving Premium members the option to choose any other avatar they don't already have (aside from the retired avatars, like the Mystery Island plot ones, or the TCG tournament one).

And I like your idea for allowing premium members to choose any avatar they'd like as their "promised avatar."

Being capable of getting every avatar isn't about ease, it's about being a collector and being competitive. Never was anything said about not having difficult avatars but having avatars that start to reach out into real life is just not right on so many levels - many people would never have the opportunity of even getting an avatar that concerns real money, not everyone is as financially sound as everyone else.

Well that's already been done with the whole coco-roller av. You had to pay for the game for your cellphone, it was only certain cellphones and really only available in the US. Yes, I know there's alot of nice people who gave codes to others to get that av. But the fact is, whoever got that avi first DID pay for it in real money. And for awhile people were being warned/frozen for either giving or getting the codes on the ac. I guess TNT gave up on that. Technically, to me, getting a code for a paid game that you didn't pay for is cheating in a way *shrug*.
And there was talk of a new wireless carrier joining with Neo with special places to visit, special pets, who knows maybe even another special avatar. You know that's going to cost money just in cell minutes. Which probably is a whole lot more than 7.99 a month premium members pay.
