New ads possibly in the works?

I usually click off that page so fast I don't see the ads, but I sure have seen that kind of ad on there from time to time.

It's only a matter of time before they put skyscraper (sometimes called tower) ads on the side. They used to be the most profitable type of ad, but I don't know what is currently the most profitable. Neopets certainly has the room for it, but it would really interfere with playing the site, so hopefully they will never go that far. Ads are totally understandable, but once they interfere with navigating the site and playing games they will lose their effectiveness. I can certainly see them putting tower ads on select pages.

You know what kind of thought just struck me? What if Neo was made to be IE only? I mean, it is possible to do that. And since it's a lot harder to mess around with the HOSTS file than it is to install Ad-Block, users will either have to put up with the ads, or just quit.

Now THAT'S scary.

Oh and, um... yeah I remember seeing one of those size ads in the SoO before. It was asking me whether I thought Kerry would have made a better president than Bush. And that was a while back (more than a week at least). Those ads have been there for a while.
