Very true. So, if you never log off of Neopets (some people do, but I don't understand the reasoning), it will give the last date that you went from logging off to logging onto Neopets.

So, Snarkie must have went from log off to log on status 89 days ago and hasn't logged off since.

They changed that feature. It used to be "Last logged in" and marked when you logged in, but since so many people didn't log out, they changed it to "Last Spotted" meaning when you were last active in the account. It sometimes doesn't work though. But it was in the News.

Also, didn't some of the staff transfer Featheralley or something? Since the price would have been amazing or something.

I'd assume the price would be, hmm, atleast 3 mill o.O;; *twitch twitch*

Really? That's odd..I never log out and when I do somethign on my account then it says last seen under one day ago..I think I remember them saying something about this on the news..it's the same for my friends' accounts too.

yeah, same with me. i never log out and it does the last seen under one day ago thing :)

edit: which was already explained

The official Support answer:

Thanks for writing! This may have been done in the past, but the current policy at this time is we cannot make those kinds of transfers.

It's amazing what answers you get that answer PPTers questions, but not your own ;)

I'll have to keep that in mind when I want to suggest something

For featheralley? 7,699,237 np to adopt.

For Majal_Kita, it's actually 25,275,140 np

Basically the last spotted thing is glitchy as heck. I have been neomailing people whilst there Last Spotted shows they haven't been spotted for four days

It's been glitchy since day one and still is glitchy. Not to mention the fact the staff probably don't want people knowing when they were last on

Anyways, they did transfer Majal_kita from Psxfaqs' account to Featheralley's account in the past. However that was a special instance

And yes, Adam has been known to pilfer other staff's pets and give them descriptions such as

After a month of misery with Rachel I am now back to my proper owner. Adam is so cool and has SO many neopoints!!! But I LOVE my new faerie self

I really think there should be a safer alternative to transferring a pet from your account to another of your own accounts.

I've tried to put together a page with my ideas on my pet Perfect_Patches petpage, with some ideas and solutions TNT could implement to make it a reality.

http://petpages.neopets.com/~Perfect_Patches

I'd love any feedback, so far the response has been lukewarm. :(

Point 1: TNT has access to the SQL server(s) in some fashion (and no doubt, to varying degrees)
Point 2: witness this piece of psuedo-SQL script
update Pets set Owner='lunchboxloon' where Name='LupeSkywalker';

Aside from the changes in database, table, and field changes (plus possible additions for the crossref-tables), the above statement is how easy it would be for the team to transfer a pet. Well... any person on the team that has enough access to modify said fields.

Ya'know.. sometimes I think I know too much, and sometimes not enough...

They probably don't need to go through all that SQL stuff :P I've heard many stories wheres Monitors have transferred pets. It's possible, except they probably say its not or else they'd be getting a ton of transfer requests.

Well, the SQL stuff still needs to be done somehow... a 'pretty' interface is certainly possible. Heck, I'll be coding the web interface for the gallery I'm gonna make, just to make it easier to enter data and pictures.

I'd love for there to be a way so that everyone can transfer pets, without putting them through the pound...

I do know that TNT can transfer pets... Once when I adopted a striped krawk for my brother, it was transfered a minute later to someone elses account, and when I asked them about it they said they were hacked, and tnt was returning the pet that the hacker put in the pound..

What I meant was, the SQL stuff has to be done, but I highly doubt that the files need to be edited directly. TNT has plenty of "behind-the-scenes" staff panels for carrying out their tasks like sending out warnings, replying to emails, adding items to the database, etc.

Thu Feb 10, 2005 8:16 pm

Well, it is true TNT can give you your pets back if they're taken by a hacker or something.. so I guess that is how TNT transfers their pets.. still.. thats not right for them to do that when we cant. I thought they said they play the game just like anyone else.. o_O

Thu Feb 10, 2005 8:32 pm

Yeah, TNT has the pet transfer to many reasons. One they can claim pets back to hacked owners, while still freezing the account that stole the pet. Two they can steel each others pet, three for the elite, importnat members like featheralley they can transfer their pets. I wouldnt be surpized if they make transfering pets a neopets premimun feature as well :)

Thu Feb 10, 2005 8:44 pm

Neopets can do anything. If the staff have database access or something, They could move anything to another account. But knowning neo, They might have admin panels for everything. 'Update ads' XD.
