Darned if I know, but it works out well for me. I learned to do that after watching for months how other people were bidding 200+ on these items. So I figured that I could do it, and it works!

I understand TNT's reasoning, personally I think the auctions were pretty cluttered with junky stuff and this was an improvement. After seeing 200 "headless vonroo plushies" for 3k starting bids in auction within a one-minute timespan, you tend to lose your nerve. :P

However, it just isn't feasible with the method they are using, limiting the auctions and going by the estimated values in the item description to set the boundry...since most est. values are way off base anyway.

Good idea, bad implementation.

Just my 3 pennies short of a nickel anyhow.

blast! that stinks. this is what I got:

Quote:
Sorry, Lemon Jelly is too cheap to put on the auction.
Only items that sell for roughly 200 NP or more qualify.

Id love to know if there are auto auction buyers the minute I kept putting a bid on something this person would put exactly 20np more immediately after

You know a good way to get rid of autobuyers? First, make sure it isn't an auction that will end in 2 secs (I know, we can't tell exactly how long anymore, but just make sure it won't end really soon), then, if you're sure that there's an autobuyer, take all your money out of your bank, bid it all (or if not all, some extravagant amount), then put the money back in your bank account. If there's not an autobuyer, then they won't bid, obviously, because then they'd get ripped off. You will default on your bid, and then the item will go to the regular highest bidder. If, on the other hand, there is an auto-bidder, unless they have some way of setting upper bid limits, they will immediately outbid you, and rip themselves off. As Nelson Muntz from the Simpsons put it best, "HA HA!"

You can't do that anymore - money is put into an escrow account now, so that it's forced to be paid to the auction seller or to be refunded to you if you're outbid.

OMG!!! the auctions DIED?!?!?!

when's the funeral? those poor autions, they were only children, CHILDREN, can you belive it?

*starts sobbing uncontrolably*

i kinda like the escrow thing though, it keeps away evil people that just try to up the price, and like it was said before, good idea, bad execution

Grrr the auctions are going to hell :x This was my only sure fire way of making a little money, I can't restock, I don't have much times for games, and quests are too unreliable... Every day I'd look forward to putting up a glowing jelly expecting some newbie to bid 300np on it... Gyah. My shop isn't big enough to hold all my items plus this junk... :( Way to go TNT.

I was hoping that this would be temporary, but it looks like it won't be. I am losing thousands a week now thanks to this.

Stupid TNT..... :x
