That particular person is always offering me "rare books" on my trades. And they are always the ones that have 8 million NP price tags on them according to the trading post.

I never accept. R90 and 8 million. Doubtful. Just another trader trying to take advantage of someone.

This is one reason why I accept NP only. Its the only way to avoid getting hurt. If and when the book goes down to 10K, we'll know we have an ordinary extortion scammer on our hands.

You did the right think to reject it. If you have not, I would do so.

If the book is rarity 90 (I think??) + its probably an illegally gotten item traded to that account from another older one that did the cheating. And I've heard of people who have gotten frozen just for having those items in their account, I think.

I would not have accepted. I would have checked neoitems (which is currently down ) to see if it was new first.

There are more of the book in the wiz today than there was yesterday. What do you think?

Gee I remember selling a poogle performers a couple of weeks ago for about 80k I think and I still have another. Ive noticed people are trying to inflate a lot of books lately. Little Timmys story is another I sold one of those for about 80k again and now they are trying to get millions out of it

i think they whole 8 million thing is kind of a sham itself..... an item is only worth as much as a person is willing to buy it for.....

spankaroonietwo's website is much better than neoitems when it comes to books actually. They have a great news page that tells you exactly the day/month a book was released and est. price as well. Just some info if anyone needs it in the future.

It's been out quite awhile. I wouldn't take a trade like that unless you know the book market. The top readers have already read that book, and most of them are good rs'ers anyhow. While they all pay tremendous prices for rare books, they know what everything is worth and most would probably laugh at the 8 mil price tag on that at this point (maybe the first week it was out they wouldn't have ) That's not to say it's a worthless book, there are people climbing the book award ladder all the time, but you'd probably have a very hard time selling it in the near future.

Our book news is run on WordPress now and we added a search to the archives so it's really easy to find out when a book came out (not just in the news, but actually released).

Eh, the TP is asking for 100k now. This is why I always only accept items I've heard of or just pure.

Wow, well I just checked the TP. This guy is one heck of a scammer. I mean, seriously. This isn't just one of those "OMGzorz!! Lyke Dis ItEm iz WORTH 8 MILLION NP!" type of people. He speaks rationally, and he organised it really well (which is scary).

Alright everyone, thanks again... If I did accept his item, I'd probably get off at the worst anyway. And I have heard stories of people who unknowingly traded with a scammer, and then were frozen for being in cahoots with em (even though it isn't true).

The book is not that new (though it isn't old either), so chances are it will just go down in price again.

I would just reject, you never know if they cheat or whatever, because they ca get you frozen by just selling you the 'cheated' items o.O

Its not a new book it has been around for awhile. The max it would be worth is 100k though they dont come up very reguarly in restock (Trust me I know Im addicted to book restocking)

Yeah, I'm very assured now. I was also curious to see what everyone elses reactions would've been and I'm thankful to see that I'm not the only one that blatantly refused 8mil NP just because it looks suspisious.
