You have to spiral round the room.
From the stairs into the 4th floor, you have to go all the way right, all the way down, all the way left, all the way up, to the last passage down on your right then jig downwards 'til you see a way left and follow that around.
Sorry so terse. Trying to simplify.

Thanks Skyfire, its really kind of you to take the time to help. Im now on the hidden stairway ( row 7 /19) on the 5th floor, but not sure how I get to the basement. The first post just says to go there but not how..
so I guess Im stuck again....... AHHHH and everyone seems to have no problem finding their way ....
