Here's a better way to think of this- if you did express your opinion in such a way, would TNT care and take notice of it?

I doubt it. Make your statement if you will, but it won't have any effect. They already know how disgruntled we are anyway, even if they don't say it. It's just like the HATIC war, they wouldn't admit to their mistakes until the weeks prior to this war in the Editorial.

Yeah, I know they could care crap about their users, but hey, at least one person is doing his part in protesting.

Well, I have to say one thing - I completely underestimated some of the prizes. I was really bummed b/c the most expensive thing I could afford was the Skull Motif Stained Glass Window... expected to get maybe a few thousand for it... just got 300k for it. I could've asked for more... but don't really care, sadly. Just wanted to buy the most expensive thing I could... then just got angry and sold it.

The downside is that now, instead of your 125 str boost pet (or your way unbalanced low-level/high str/high HP lab-ray-sideshow-freak pet) competing against the overflowing hoards of low level/weak pets, you're having to compete against pets of a similar str boost and who've had the inclination and opportunity to set themselves up with powerful BD sets.

If that were actually true, I wouldn't have objected as much, although I still see no reason for the rank system in the first place.

The problem is my 85 strength boost pet (who isn't unbalanced in the least -- rank 2 went down to all but the very low HP 85 stength boost pets) wasn't competing against pets of similar strength. She was competing against pets all the way up to the 700 strength boost in some cases.

700 isn't a similar strength boost to 85.

I still haven't decided if I want to get the banner or the T-shirt. Choosing your own prizes is fun, I wish they'd done this in previous wars -- you know, the ones where they actually let people get war points.

OK, I am going to post before this thing is locked.

First off, please, people, don't criticize and/or hate the rank 1's who got a gazillion points. They didn't ask to be rank 1. They had no say in how the game was going to be played out. So, don't be nasty to them because they were able to score a lot of points. The finger should be pointed only at TNT, not at the other players.

And, not all rank 1 players compiled a gazillion points, I might add. My daughter absolutely refused to even fight because she was lumped into rank 1, even though her pet was pretty decent--maybe not the highest level (29), but extremely high in defense, strength, and hit points. She had battled quite a bit in the past (about 500 times) and had won almost all of the time due to her awesome weapons. She was INSULTED to be put in rank 1! So, she absolutely refused to fight "the chia clown" with her sinsis sword, florbix blaster, and honey potion. Where was the challenge? Poor thing, she didn't even get the sidebar. I only wish I could give her mine.

And, yes, the finger should definitely be pointed at TNT for dropping the ball on this one. Yes, I do believe that newer, weaker players should get some sort of handicap, but not one that overtakes the stronger, long-term players. This war was so unfair to people who trained their pets and spent tons of nps on weapons--oh, and any lurking Neopets staffers, I don't battle and even I see this one!!

And, the support system? Don't get me started. There is no reason in the absolute world why items should have suddenly become unbuyable. If TNT saw that happening, why didn't they flood the market (through RE's or restocks) with coral orbs and "Learn to Swim." It is totally unfair that someone should get zero points simply because every request they got was 100K plus. The only people who made out here were the restockers.

Neopets should have done their homework on this one and I don't care what anyone says, they screwed up big time here. And not just with the ranking (which was totally stupid), but with the support system and, most of all, with their timing. OK, you have tons of high school and college kids who play and you start the war right as these school kids have finals? And end it on a Friday--the Friday that most kids in the US finished school--instead of the following Monday. Totally moronic--think of all of the extra revenue Neopets would have gotten if it had continued the war through the weekend. Kids, out of school, who could finally fight would have been online, looking at the stupid ads, and earning revenue for Neopets. Not a smart move.

I was very lucky. I found one game where I could scrape by and get the minimum 500 nps. And, I got 4 war tokens as RE's. But, I was lucky. I smurfed at all of the other games and absolutely refused to pay 150K for a request so I could get two points. No way.

I only wish that I could have bought that sidebar for my daughter and anyone who was unable to get even one point in the war. Because I really gave a smurf about my total points or my trophy. Because too many others were not as fortunate.

Neopets should have given that sidebar to anyone who signed up--whether they got a point or not. So not fair to dangle it in front of them and then smack them in the face because they were unable to get the required 1 np for the thing. Would have been very different if Neo had even mentioned this requirement at the onset of the war. But, they didn't, natch.

They gave prizes to people in the last war who got zero points--why not this war as well? I mean, after all, what harm is there in giving people who signed up the sidebar, for goodness sake?

I could go on and on and on about this--but I won't. I am just too disgusted.

Bravo, Morningstar. :)

Although I am still mad at the rank ones who cried about wave 4, when they had full icon blockers.

o_0, I do agree. There is a big difference between people who are going along minding their own business and people who are waving their good fortune in your face and rubbing your nose in it. A pox on those people.

Oh, Requiem, you are the reason I wrote what I did. When I read your posts I was just about crying. So darned unfair. And no one at Neopets cares.

I only wish I could have taken my 51 points and bought all sidebars with them and given them out to people who didn't get them.

EDIT: Oh, and LupetyLupe, I applaud your kind spirit. I get the feeling you feel a bit like me--blessed when so many others were not.

I totally agree wth you Morningstar!

I was apparently a rank 3 supporter, but I can't be sure of that since I didn't get any points and therefore no trophy. I just know I had over a million NP. But because I have a million NP, why does that make me more willing to spend ungodly amounts of NP than people that don't have that much. In fact, the only reason I have so much is because I refuse to spend NP that I don't need to use. I was not about to pay a large sum of money for a couple of war points.

And TNT was totally off by posting such a shabby description of the supporters. I honestly think I could have done much better battleing, I just don't have a battle superstar pet, so I thought I would be a supporter.

The real description for supporter should have been- "Complete quests for unbuyable items, play games that you have very little chance of winning, and then cross every body part you have and hope to get some war tokens."

To maybe be the last to post in this thread, I say to all who scored so much (In any rank) and waving it in others faces.

Hey everyone, I have 290+ points to spend (still, I have a full set of everything I could get, which is the Garin Negg and everything under). I think all of the war prizes are cool, so I am trading each of the Maraquan Warrior items starting at Garin Negg and under for their Pirate alternatives.

No extra NP or anything, just trying to trade for more stuff!

Garin Negg -- > Scarblade Negg
Skull Keyring -- > Goregas Keyring
Maraquan Print T-Shirt --> War Logo T-Shirt
Maraquan Decorative Banner -- > Pirate Decorative Banner
Isca Pull Along Toy --> The Revenge Model Ship

it interesting cuz i search ;ie garin negg and its 3,000 less then its equal the scarblade negg onthe shop wiz.. thats insane, do they have the same effect?

I'm guessing the reason the garin negg is cheaper is because there were many more Marquarans, and probably more people getting the negg. That fits into the basic principle of supply and demand. Maybe same amount of demand- but more supply of Garin than Scarblade. Just a theory...

It is because there were many more Maraquan supporters/warriors than Pirate supporters/warriors. So, that means more garin neggs out there and less scarblade neggs out there. If you don't get what I mean, check out the pirakeet pull along toy (a pirate war/supporter prize) versus the Isca pull along toy (a Maraquan war/supporter prize). The pirakeet is unbuyable while the Isca is about 5000 nps.
