for the vine trick, i was able to get to the next part with:
6, 6, 6, 1, 0

and then when i got into the deeper woods
i kept chasing the meepit who and kept going to random places
until i landed on a place where there were seven dim lights on the ground and a big tree trunk in the middle with a carving.

so i put the seven meepits on the light, and to get to the next place, u have to put them in the order where all of them start to dance.

so after that, i reached Ilere's place,
and it`s to be continued after that.

i`ll upload the pictures if you guys want.

My rope had no rotting or decaying vines and it was exactly long enough. it was too long with one rotting vine. It seems there is some pattern we're not picking up on as far as which vines will work to make the rope.

Edit: Where did the ghost meepits come from? I certainly didn't pick any up!

Somebody hit me with a ghost meepit. T__T I lost one of my vines...I dropped it, and it disappeared, so I left the clearing to see if it went somewhere else...and now I'm lost and can't find my way back. ::hates this plot right now::

Edit: Found my way back and the vine reappeared...now I have to go back to the stupid weaving. -.-

this doesn't make any sense!

I have 6 icky 2 rotten 6 crumbling 3 gross and 2 decaying, and the only way the rope stays strong is if i take away decaying
ABSOLUTELY nothing else works, even if i add one of anything, and i need to because it says its too short

Looks like the vines are random...

What I did was collect as many of each as I saw, and when I finally made it to the clearing (with lots of trial and error), I just started discarding the rotten vines and moving right to left discarding, trying each time.

Finally I got it. Now I'm stuck in the ghost meepit woods and have no clue what to do next...

Umm, I have like 7 ghost meepits in my quest inventory, and i dont even know how i got them . . .

I don't know about the rope, i had 6,6,4,2,0 and it was too short, but 6,6,4,3,0 worked for me [shrugs]

Weird. I was asking about the Ghost Meepits, but I never saw any - they just appeared in my Quest Inventory.

hmm. so most likely the vine combination is just different for every player.

I haven't found my stick yet. All of the paths I've clicked on seem to lead me back to the same places, and on none of them have I seen that stick. I did see the Hissis though.

I was annoyed by this too at first... just realise that it's not necessarily on the path... I found mine in the grassy fines toward the bottom of the flash screen. Its likely to be anywhere on the ground...... so if its not on the path, look just below it in the vines.... thats where I found mine.

Oh no... is it going slow again? Because I picked up a vine and now it's just on the spinning vine screen

The combination is not working for me. 6, 6, 4, 2, 1 would say it wasn't long enough before, and now it is now I have no idea what to do.

Weird. I was asking about the Ghost Meepits, but I never saw any - they just appeared in my Quest Inventory.

They are automatically in everyone's quest invetory when you enter the deep woods, but there is another one you might randomly come upon while wandering around. As far as I can tell though that one isn't important or anything.
