I'm actually quite happy with this mini-plot. It's satisfying not to throw my life away to a plot. I tried to do the LDP, and gave up after about the 7th clue, when I was going back through the maze and accidentally clicked on the wrong door and had to wait an hour. I decided enough was enough. So it's nice to have a little puzzle that doesn't become all-consuming.
Also, to continue the dictionary discussion, as I am a nerd, according to the Oxford English Dictionary:
Colosseum: the name since medieval times of the Amphitheatrum Flavium, a vast amphitheatre in Rome, begun c.75 AD.
- ORIGIN from Latin, neuter of colosseus ‘gigantic’, from colossus
coliseum: a large theatre, cinema, or stadium: the London Coliseum.
- ORIGIN late 19th cent.: from medieval Latin, alteration of Latin colosseum
But like was mentioned earlier, it was most likely two different people who just picked two different spellings. Such be the life of a large company!
Well, seeing as they both seem to mean virtually the same thing, I don't think there's any difference. Personally, I prefer Colosseum, because coliseum looks a bit odd. But that might just be me.
