Lovely. I spent over 500k and I ended up with a banner and a t-shirt. *rolls eyes* I'm definitely battling next war.

On a positive note, I do like this purchace your prize system.

Well, I'm at least happy that I got the sidebar. The idea of purchasing prizes is great; remember the last war? I agree that there could have been slightly more interesting items lower on the list, but I'm pleased with what I have (sidebar, keychain, and T-shirt).

I'm going to bite my tongue and not spew out what i feel about the war, my 12 measly rank 2 points and the neopets staff who thought up the 'system'

Instead i'll go and redeem so many goodies with the wonderful points i've chalked up..like the negg..oh wait..it's 75 points and my pet is too weak to get 75 points...maybe i'll get 13 keyrings and use them to build a noose.



because it's a slap in the face each time we go to our lookup and see that double number trophy next to the triple digits ones...and it's darn embaressing as well.

edited to add that i did indeed send a comment to neopets asking them to remove my trophy, i have participated in my last war.

The same thought came across my mind ( I got 7 points this time and 666 last war).
Plus every time I will go to my lookup, it just reminds me how unfair this war was.

I doubt they will personally take youre trophy off though. At least you could say that you were in this war... That counts for something.
Don't forget that anyone who fought in the war will understand your score... Especially if you were rank 2.

I chose the supporter roll just because I was curious how it will work. Last war i ended up with 130 sth points. I did train my pet and managed to get the stats pretty high, I still just wanted to give it a go.

I'm all in all satisfied with the prizes. Got the sidebar and two Rare Treasure Maps books. I believe I spent on quests around 400K, everything else came from games. I've been offered almost 1.5 mil for one book. That's 3mil altogether. ~2.5 mil pure profit. So, i'm not complaining.
I know that they could've done all this prize system differently...but oh well...there's always sth people are not happy about.

If only I imagined it I would have got another 6 points... ah well, I'll live without a t-shirt (or buy it).
I also got the medal-looking trophy and I can't complain, it's cute enough.
Pity about the petpets, the maraquan one looks really cute while the pirate one is kinda ugly.

I chose the Sidebar, 2 Pirate Decorative Banners and a Skull Keyring.

With my war points I was able to get a Scarblade Negg, a Revenge Model Ship, 4 Skull Keyrings and the Maraquan Sidebar.
There really should have been a Pirate Sidebar, though.

Got 400 points, so 3 Garin Neggs, 1 Isca Pull Toy, 1 Maraquan Decorative Banner, 2 Maraquan Print T-Shirts, and 4 Goregas Keyrings, plus the sidebar. I think its a great idea to be able to choose what you get with your points, although I would have like to see more prizes, especially between 75 points and 863 points.

You folks do know that by redeeming your prizes, you are further supporting this pathetic excuse for a war, right?

Just to clarify from my earlier post, I do think the war was unfair, the rank setup was not very well though out, and rank 2 covered too wide a range of strength. The story ending was a little weak, but I can see where it lets them leave Garin as a pirate on the high seas for future games or plots.

The prizes were pretty good, for the first rank. Seems like the 2nd and third rank doesn't want that crap. Perhaps they should have had different prizes for them. The fact thata there are so many less rank 3 players would have automatically made the cheaper (5 war points etc) prizes worth more, and the mid range weapons could have been more suitable to pets with uber-stats.

I can see where, by breaking the massive player base up into segments, there can be more winners in the end. The downside is that now, instead of your 125 str boost pet (or your way unbalanced low-level/high str/high HP lab-ray-sideshow-freak pet) competing against the overflowing hoards of low level/weak pets, you're having to compete against pets of a similar str boost and who've had the inclination and opportunity to set themselves up with powerful BD sets. Add to that that the rank 2 opponants were a little overpowered, IMO, and it made the war too hard to be no fun for rank 2. And in the end, they were competing for the same prizes as rank one, so the rank system failed them in the end.

It's such a pain in the butt though. HatIC had what? 5 different prizes? This war had 30 or 40 dependant on whether you were pirate or maraqua and fighter or supporter. If they had also split it up by rank, you would probably be looking at 90 to 120 different prizes. They put out an average of what? Three or four new items a day in the news?

I don't really care what prize I get, the war is fun.
Except, I am totally in love with this sidebar.
One complaint about the sidebar is that http://images.neopets.com/t/mqa/5.gif doesn't match it....

I spent quite a bit of time on the war and you expect me to not claim my prize?

Life isn't always fair, but we all know that.

I was planning to do the same thing, but I thought about it for awhile, then just redeemed my points anyway. For one thing, I don't have many points, but I don't think TNT would replace a prize after most people have gotten them; not to mention creating another new item.

I doubt it. Make your statement if you will, but it won't have any effect. They already know how disgruntled we are anyway, even if they don't say it. It's just like the HATIC war, they wouldn't admit to their mistakes until the weeks prior to this war in the Editorial.
