When I saw it I was like why is there a black Moltres on neopets

I though more fearow or Ho-oh. Although it's also quite close to birdramon

I'd have to go for the Moltres.

(Submitted my Turkey Lenny to the art competition again, but doubts I'll get in since I have the (c) Neopets.com on it, and doesn't have time to wait until I get home to rescan it and retag it. Mom babysits and my home computer currently isn't hooked up to the internet (financial stuff and such), so I use the computer at the place mom babysits at.)

EDIT: Fawkes would be a perfect name for a Pheonix-fired style Lenny.

Personally, I think that the way TNT is doing the Maraquan pets now is how they should've been doing them all along. Sure, in some cases (like the Blumaroo), the distinction between the Neopet and the real-world sea creature is almost obvious, but in others...

The best move they made was taking the existing sea creature and applying the features of a Neopet to it. As strange as it may sound, it gives those pets a more "natural" feel. Just look at the Kyrii... it looks like it belongs in the water, and that should be the whole point.

Doing it the other way - taking the pet and adding features of a sea-creature only works sometimes, like in the case of the Draik, Krawk and Scorchio. Most of the time, however, the pet comes off looking not quite right... like the Kougra and Chomby (both good concepts, just could of have been done better). Or it comes out looking entirely ridiculous, like the Mynci and *shudder* the Gelert.

I didn't see any posts about this, although I could have missed it...but anyhow, just in case, here's the Checkered Uni:

I kinda like that. Not that I like checkered pets in general, but this seems to be a step in the right direction to tone the color down.

Much better then the other Checkered pets. The colors aren't too distracting. Still an ugly color, but a definite improvement.

Yeah, I'm not one for checkered pets in general, but at least this one doesn't make me dizzy when I look at it.

Conclusion: TCG is Wizards. Wizards both had shares in Pokemon and Neopets. There is no surprise that there are artists from there, here.
