lol, if I had known about that poll, I would've voted for Faerieland :P

I advertised it the best that I could.... it's been there since the beginning of June... and I told people to tell their friends so we could break 100 votes.... and I actually PMed many people who were in the first spilts of this thread.... and there was a link in my sig for the whole time with little pretty attractive icons around it.... so sorry if you guys didnt get to vote, but i DID get 127 votes, so its fairly accurate, im sure.... for example okamotosan voting for a team up there is the top 3 :)

Indeed, sorry for not paying attention, my focus doesn't always go to people's sigs XD
And btw, have you always been able to send your scores for practice rounds? I just noticed a couple wins for Practice rounds, lol

"The Altador Cup Committee bases scores on win/loss/tie record, point scores, individual performance, and a weighted average based on team membership. Translation: A team with more players has no advantage over a team with less players! " From the standings page. The popularity contests are over now, I hope. :P

That symbol for Roo Island looks like it should be for Team Microsoft Windows. :P They're a fast team though...maybe faster than Altador was - I've already forgotten.

I've been reading for a bit. I made a comment a while back and it ended up being the end of the thread :x so I'll say it again. I really don't like this game. It seems extremely unfair. The computer is capable of using all four players where I'm only permitted to use one at a time, creating a terrible disadvantage. Now, a gamer might be able to play a game like this, but the average Joe/Jane would not be able to...I being the average Jane. So, I know this is isn't the majority's opinion, but it's mine, so there it is.

It's a matter of practise. I was getting owned the first few games against the practise team too, but it's easy enough to take control of.

The computer has a few advantages. They don't generally play two players at a time, but they can switch and aim instantatiously and perfectly, and they have both an offensive and defensive default position they can send their entire team into at once while we can only hit shift to send all our players back into one starting position. (people, use this! it eases things up a lot if you don't score on your first attempt). Their single biggest advantage is the automatic goalkeeper, but if we had one of those they'd never score a goal.

But the computer is also completely and utterly predictable. They can do one of three things at the start of the game (all of which are easily responded to), and from there on their every next move is perfectly deterministic. When they get the ball, I can tell with 90% success rate exactly where it's going to be in x seconds, and ofcourse be there myself. There are various no-fail scoring paths that'll only screw up if you do, or a faerie/mutant ball isn't playing nice.

Honestly, the game is easy. Play 3 more games and see how you're doing then, then come back to complain if it still isn't working.

Wow - I never knew that shift thing. I learned two things today that will *REALLY* improvemy game play! I forgot the other one, but I'm sure it's in the back of my mind somewhere.

pink-girl-thing, only the closest one actually chases me. The rest just run into position. It helps in that I know this, because I know who'll be where when I go somewhere. The automatic goal keeper is kind of annoying, though. Okay, okay - REALLY annoying. T_T But it does help to learn what angles work for you.

...AND to have your arrow still in the window. ^^;; I'm sick of clicking on another window by mistake, but I have been doing it a lot less now. Heh.

Playing with Darigan is slightly different - and is it just me, or have the... uh... dots represting the players gotten bigger? Thought so, it is just me. XD

Haha, yeah, I just noticed the practice rounds scores, too! Maybe we get extra points for that? Either way, I think I'll be sending scores for that now. Just in case, y'know.

ETA: And that snow ball? Terrible with darigan. x.x Well, in comparison with Terror Mountain. Anyone else find this?

That's correct, we now see it goes the other way around where a team with less people does well because the scores they send have a bigger impact on score, lol

I was just thinking "weighted average"?
Seems like they put the weight on the wrong end! :roflol:

I'm assuming that those will be the match-ups for the next round. I'm just guessing but
that is usually how sports brackets work. Might help with team choosing for round 2.
Don't blame me if I'm wrong though :P

So you can't really predict the next match-ups accurately.

Oh how I love the nature of random (especially with TNT). It allows for the actual *planning* of anything beforehand which you can then call completely "random" afterward. :P

:roflol: You should submit that to the Times or something. Or maybe as a bug report instead?

EDIT: Wait a second, maybe that is where all our "lost scores" went when we were switched back and forth at the beginning. I know I sent 13 for Faerieland then got switched to Maraqua. I bet those got sent to Mystery Island by "random" default or something.

Well I can't say I know much of anything of what to do with the "pluck 'n place" that occured in Round 1. I know people got switched around and were angry and all that, but no one seems to know how the scoring went. Now if we wanted, people could try to get a petition asking for a rerun of Round 1 due to cause of "forced change of allegiance" which would have affected scoring results and which therefore should cause a nullification of all resulting totals.

I'll need to sort through my 20K's worth of merchandise to see if anything is already spoken for, but I know I have a few things that I didn't have orders for. Note to any out there with computer security programs that never SEEM to do anything: THEY WORK!

I removed all our McAfee Security stuff and didn't tell anyone, so my oldest brother reformatted the computer after backing up all the files, so now I need to find the Orders list.

I'll post later with what I have available.

Also...Wait, you mean if I REALLY bust my @#$ DC could still lose! GGGGRRRRAAAAAUUUUUURRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!

There is no measure as to the vengeance I will unleash upon ANY Darigan Citadel Supporter that doesn't pull their weight in Round 2! I'm looking for someone from DC to compete with, you know, to help drive the total stats through the roof. Any takers?

EDIT: I'm afraid that I can't quite manage any Team Jerseys and will not be able to get any. For those who asked, I apologize and hope I can help you get other team merchandise.

I'm officially with the Darigans now. Payback time, muahahaha. I need to photoshop this avatar into something that represents both teams...

I dont know if I'll be dedicated enough to match Shadow's hundreds of wins, but if I get close I'll start posting. I have to say I've been getting addicted to the game, I've probably played more practie rounds since round 1 ended than I ever won for faerieland.

Also, for those who have problems clicking outside the window, you can play it full screen. In IE7, just hold ctrl and click the link so it opens in a new tab and viola, full screen gameplay. For other browsers you may have to use one of those websites and petpags that let you play any team against any team, those work too. All you really have to do is find the correct link and paste it into a fullscreen browser window.
