I remember in the editorial recently they said using Avant's refresh - all pages option (I think Opera has it too) could get you frozen. So... using auto-refresh would definately not be allowed.

Avant Browser has an option that allows you to automatically refresh a page every 10 seconds (although mine seems to be every 5), is this considered using a program for cheating or whatever by neoopets?
Possibly. I think they define a cheating program as one that plays the game when you are not there. I don't think they mind you sitting there, manually pressing refresh, but they might be a bit dubious about the refresher.
Yes, I wonder how they feel about someone's arms so tired and inflamed they cannot finish fixing a Water Plant or something?

I made sure to observe and manually vary my refreshing when I finally had to use this method. I don't know where they draw the line, but so long as I am there to monitor and also make changes, that is not completely automatic really.
I think they may make a slight allowance for irregular refreshing after four days of extreme mental torture.
Or maybe they'll just discount your entire Altador Plot for taking too long on one particular stage. But that would be almost unspeakably cruel!

Technically true. Only Lawyerbot knows the nitty gritty details. But I was wondering if these were recent instances or old TNT-freeze-happy stories.
The general idea is that it is usually used "unmonitored" and that is the key word, but I could be wrong about the fine print. I was curious if anyone had any other news on it, that is all. Sorry to go off topic.
And sorry to double-post.

LOL maybe about the exception. It would be ironic if after, like in the LDP it said I completed everything except like step 2 or something odd, "understanding the scroll" but I got beyond that, so that was weird. I bet in the breakdown of the Altador Plot points they just say I flooded it too much or something and not get credit for that part. Just my luck.

First, I'd like to thank anjuna for the recognition of my skills.
Second, I'd like to point out some funny things:
*While playing, the goals are checkered:
black/purple
purple/black
After scoring, though, it's split half and half
*After a goal, several camera flashes go off, yet only a slight sliver of the stands are within view and none of the flashes are from that level.
I now have very much free time to devote to butt-kickery in the AC before my Taekwondo class.
PS: NO ONE BEATS SUPER-GOALIE!!!!! Super-goalie moves as fast, if not faster, than the ball. This means no strategy will ever see a 10th goal. Though this does lead one to wonder as to why there is a place for double-digit score on the scoreboard scene.
Also PS: I have a few recordings of my games that I've tried to upload to YouTube to share, but they always fail. Does the file type matter?

As Shadow_Twisted also already said: thanks for having such faith in my skills

I haven't been able to get to 10 goals though and I think it's virtually impossible... It's kind of obvious that the usual techniques don't work anymore, with the normal goalie I can score the fire Yooyu from the middle of the field, but even when you're only inches away from the goal, the goalie will always be too fast... I've also tried out some passing techniques, but they all seem to be to slow...

I think most file types are being supported, I'm sure .avi and .mpeg are, so you might give those a try... and make sure they're not too big either, maximum file size is 100MB and maximum length is 10 minutes...

Super goalie may be a clincher, and I don't know why but 09 somehow even just looks better than 9. Gives one hope, you know? I was wondering if there may be a strategy after all. I noticed that a couple of times the other team managed to "surround" my goalie so that I could not move said goalie to block anything. And I use Shift to reset my formation a lot, but a few times I did notice it useful that I had 2 of my men right near their goal, too. If you can score 9 and then somehow manage to have time to move a teammate or two right up next to the goalie, then another to aim and shoot, it just might work! Then again I am very tired, I must be dreaming already if I really imagine that is at all possible.
Still, I bow down to both your skills and dedication. If 10 is possible I imagine it could be you or Hangman or a few others posting 9-0 scores (myself included, but it certainly won't be me at my 4:30 AM). Heh.
EDIT: Another possible strategy might be if you can simply shoot at the sharpest angle you can, thus giving even the super goalie less time (considering you're lucky enough to get a fast straight fire ball last)?

Anjuna that actually sounds like a feasible plan.
Hmm, maybe I'll go try it out in a sec!

That is, when I do get 9 goals...

OMG. I am good.
Even though I was Mystery Island.

Wow, good going there!
Ever consider playin' for Altador?

Hehe, just kiddin'.

I was playing for Altador before I was switched... darn bug... or whatever.

LOL that is the finest print I ever almost didn't see. Cute though.

Just making sure it was possible to get more than 9. Like maybe if you scored a goal, it wouldn't count. So... keep trying for ten.
Sat Jun 10, 2006 12:18 pm
I'm only on my 4th win

somehow I get bored easily... At least now I'm playing on my own computer, which doesn't lag as much as my brother's.

Firstly, dracir512, nice one! Very clever. Although it would be lovely if you could reverse the score.
And secondly, I've been wondering if it would be possible to, say, have a player in the middle of the goal, have another going down one side, pass across and the player in the middle shoot to the other side of the goal. If the goalie went faster than the fire ball, then that would be impossible, but if it was even a little bit slower, then that would score a tenth.
But that's just being greedy. Consistant 9-0 wins are better for me then trying in vain to get a tenth, and ending up conceding four in the last minute through dedicating too much to attack and making stupid defensive mistakes.
