Heh TWW, I actually got that screen when I left it up as I was posting my Altador predictions. It is pretty funny =)

Lol...I saw on some pet page that if you click on the left (his left, not yours) eye of the Techo in the scoreboard scene, Ollie (guy in neocam) appears.

This , not sure if their information is correct, but it seems to answer some of our questions.
I knew this was sort of big, but I had no idea The Neopets Team was pushing it this much.
Whoa. I didn't know it was THIS big, either. When I started reading that article I was like this -->

I mean... whoa. I don't even think it's a big deal! They make it sound like some sporting event in real life

Thanks for the article, btw.
Coltzan's Crown!!! they're making a big deal out of this!! O__o
And I think the game is based on that game with the thing on people's arms that's really fast-paced or whatever, that I forget the name of... meh... It's hispanic or something... (i'm really tired...)

Nice. I like the spyder.
I'm wondering if the score of the game will somehow come into play, and not just wether you win. This would be good, because it seems like most people can win pretty regularly, so if it's just amount of wins, then it's pretty much going to be whoever has the most players, but if goals come into play then skill will matter as well.
Well, I've gotten 10 wins for roo so far. I've also managed to procrastinate. A lot. I'm such a good multitasker.
But seriously. I didn't even start my homework til 1:30(and even that was just printing some stuff to read tomorrow, hopefully before class). And I've got to get up early for a shower tomorrow, and it's final assembly(which, as a band member, I have to play in. Pomp and Circumstance, about 20 times in a row)(...at least classes will be short...) So as much as I'd like to win them more, I think I'd really better get off to bed. As it is, I'm only going to get about *looks at clock* four, four and a half hours of sleep. Oh joy.

neopets is gonna have something like the greatest roman tragedy
poop am i jynxing? i honestly love neopets "GO HAUNTED WOODS!"
stuff read: number of wins and number of goals an individual scores
those who score 9, to to whatever-winning, are major contributors
also those who will play constantly like whole day like should be found and killed on spot

The "Fan Freebies" have come out. they have AIM Icons, MSN Icons, and backgrounds. Sadly, the TM ones are horrible. None of ours are action scenes.

I did use the background, though.

Hmmm, this is a bit annoying.
On that news page it said that they are taking collective wins/losses and goals into account. It also said you'll get a special reward if your team wins AND you made it through every round.
Since most people won't submit a result unless it's a win, the only losses will come from extreme New Member (but thaat can be discounted as it will be fairly balanced between teams), and people who use a second account to join the competitor team and post many many losses on that team.
Whether the latter will affect scores more than just playing for your team and winning depends on how TNT intends to take losses into account. For example, they could subtract 30 points for each loss, add 10 for each win. This would make this tactic worth doing... which will be atrocious!
It's important to remember that millions of people are playing this game, so a team might win overall from sheer weight of numbers.
However, it's also possible that there are people out there who will post a few thousand 9-0/8-0/7-0/9-1/8-1 scores for their team (perhaps opening a second brower logged into a secondary account playing the other team at the same time, then ignoring that widow so that they lose).
One of these two will decide who wins, and I predict the former. A pure popularity contest. So... you should pick the most popular team. I've not really done this, I've already picked another team, and I'll submit a few 9-0 match each round until they go out, then switch to some other team and do the same.
I doubt the amount you participate matters, as long as you chalk up more wins than losses each round (i.e. win once). I also doubt there's any profitable reason to continue after being knocked out; but I will anyhow out of boredom. {Do not complain if this turns out false! Feel free to play a thousand games and (potentially) get hundreds more points onto your lookup than me (assuming we both pick the right team). I just won't be doing it, and I doubt there will be any difference!}
Now, since once a team has been knocked out players can join another team; and since generally people will not join the team that knocked them out, you can actually do some calculations on which teams should win based on who is playing who in the first round.
Look for a team playing an unpopular team, since that way when they pass the first round (guaranteed), a flood of people won't join whoever-they-match-up-against.
Brightvale and Kiko Lake are probably the least popular teams (because of the cheating thing and Kiko lake having little on it), but they're playing each other so forget them.
Next least popular is probably Roo Island for the same reasons, which means Tyrrania has a good chance.
Unfortunately though I'm not sure which team is the MOST popular, so it's hard to guess. Also, team A plays an unpopular team to start, then in round 2 plays against team B which just beat a fairly popular team C, then team A will get a large influx of team C supporters and will own team B.
Sounds like I'm taking statistics and popularity too far? Don't forget the sheer weight of people playing! Statistics are very applicable.

Well, I'm beating Roo (9 wins atm), and I must say you have one tough defense! The middle defense guy always repel my shots if I'm coming from down and I'm not too near.
Anybody else is getting lots of Faerie yooyus? I'm getting at least one per game, and quite often I got two. Fortunately I can score with them
BTW, I'm really dissapointed at TNT, I was hoping they figured a way to make team with less supporters have a chance, but since you can change teams between rounds, it's obvious less supported teams will get disqualified in the first round, and then you have to find another one to support.
Well, so far, I'm going to try and make Tyrannia pass this round.
Fri Jun 09, 2006 6:12 am
ummmm what the heck.. i should have like 15 wins now but it says i only have 4.
I thought "oh well, so i lost some points"... i refreshed the page and now when i hit "submit score".... it doesnt load or anything, it just... starts a new game. And im NOT GETTING MY POINTS I DESERVE!
Fri Jun 09, 2006 6:14 am
I know a way to fix it...
Player against Player, they did it with the mcdonalds thing,
but of course, neopets might give you a default computer, if there's no one's on on that team, and there, an easy win.
Where that could be manipulated.
i don't think they will count loses, theres a cheating thing there, number of goals scored based by individual, dividing things of course would take place
this is supposedly to last 1 week...

I don't get the scoring either. Seems like TNT should be tallying something behind the scenes? For instance, I can actually see a reason for submitting a tie. Which I tend to do. For if they are keeping "score" (but just not letting us see them during the games) it could be as "points" in the overallness of things? Especially seeing how you can switch teams after if your team loses in Round One? Basically, I can't see how anyone really loses or wins here. Won't we all be playing in the finals?
Very few would opt to submit a loss, however if the game was good and your score high ( hypothetically let's say you lost 9-8 ) you might want to submit that in case your 8 still counts in the final point tally? Of course, don't everyone sumbit losing scores all at once now!

I guess TNT keeping us wondering about this will have to skew things for now.
EDIT: agf, I think you may be right about the setup, though. It does seem like sometimes I play against automated players that run into each other more than anything else, lol. Other times I notice the other teams players definitely have skill!

i guess this is how the bloody thing is scored
2 factors: number of goals, number of wins
i don't know how a team would be eliminated.
first they lower the value of the larger teams
For example, if there are 20 people in one team & 10 people in another,
a person in the 20 people team would score 1/2 a person in the 10 people team would score. lets call this....the order variable (i think there is a name for this, i don't know it)
values of the factors(i forgot the meaning of factor)
wins equal 5 points
each goal scored is 1 point each
add them up
divide it by the uh...order variable
and voila
the score of that team
i'm not at all good at math
people who play non stop should be killed
but i think the max scores submitted count are 4
edit its nope, but there may be a max

Tally all the scores for each team, divide the total by the sum of all the games submitted. This gives you the team's average score.
Example:
3 scores submitted by Darigan Citadel: 9-0, 8-2, 4-3.
9+8+4=21 21/3=7
5 scores submitted by Terror Mountain: 6-2, 5-3, 3-2, 9-0, 7-1
9+7+6+5+3=30 30/5=6
Darigan Citadel:7 Terror Mountain:6
Darigan Citadel Wins!
