12 scrolls sorted by original catalog sequence, in primary colors only, does not work.

Would someone like to try 12 scrolls, in tablet order, primaries only? (If you have a purple nem now, and originally had a blue nem, now you'd read a red nem.) Or has this been tried and ruled out?

i tried, but ran into a room that has 12 Blue AHNs and i only needed one, i checked if i could substitute white, but there were multiples of that too, however one rack had a line of whites leading down to the blue i needed. ?anything with that?

thanks for helping us rule that out. The multiple scroll issue that you bring up has been encountered MANY times before. This is why we discounted the possibility of reading all 12 scrolls.

Instead, we are focussing on reading only the 8 scrolls that are needed to blend the colors of the existing crystal to creat the new colors.

So, ignoring blanks, ignoring colors that remain the same (after all they shine through and trying to read them bumps into multiple scrolls), we have 8 scrolls to read this round (next round will probably be only 4 scrolls)

ok...

but what order to read these 8 scrolls in? We don't have a handy key (dots on first crystal) as we had before. AND my team has already tested reading these 8 scrolls in the old catalog order we used last time AND the order from our tablets (straight down).

what other sensible order can you guys suggest?

Keep in mind... if you rearrange the catalogs into EVERY possible combination, that would give us 6 options... just 6... worst case scenario... 8 scrolls, in 6 catalog combinations... that's MOST 48 scrolls to read...

now get cracking!!

Yes, I've taken over the role as foreman here... after all, if I can't get spiked myself, then I'm very happy to start whipping you folks. I've got lots of built up frustration!

I was thinking along the same lines as you. With the 8 scrolls that i have, i only have two primary colours (my reds were removed when i culled it to 8)

That gives me two possibilities, i've already tried on and failed and you previously mentioned two boards ago that doing it in the original dots order didn't work either...

So don't know what else >_<

Grrrrr, I have one, maybe two attempts left before my light.

Am I right in guessing that if it was at 3pm NST yesterday, it'll be the same time today?

interesting hydruxo.

Forgive me for prodding... but you tried once.. and the alternative which you haven't tried would be...

ordering your scrolls based on the order in the card catalog and read the color order based on the dots from the first crystal?

so hypothetically you tried RB, and BR is ruled out based on my theory which was disproved?

that's great to know. Of course you are certain you subtracted colors correctly to end up with your 8 scrolls in only two shades?

show off

No, showing off would be me saying that I wrote down which traps I encountered, so I knew which door to go into and would get a spiked trap. ;) But I don't like to show off, so we'll forget I said that. :P

I'm starting to get bored with all of this 'quick run here and do this now stop and wait... now quick run here now and do this quick and stop and wait.' It is nice though that everyone is getting a chance to catch up. It's becoming clearer each week that those who gave up on mapping their temple must do so now and catch up. On the other hand, I don't think that if people don't do anything, TNT will leave them in the dark, do you? However even if you haven't been following the puzzle part of the plot, you can still fight the opponents. *shrug*

That is correct. I don't have any reds (ignoring originals) because i don't have any oranges and all my purples corresponded to an original red.

I would try the other combination to make sure but i've gone through like 4 different combinations and i'm really frustrated that i'm calling it a night :P!

I don't blame you, your information has really been EXTREMELY helpful. Perhaps when you wake up, if we haven't gotten anywhere, you'll give it a whirl anyway. Having only 2 colors, makes you a GREAT guinea pig. No offense intended!! LOL

one more thing hydruxo, so you are down to Blues and Yellows, and you read all of one color then all of the 2nd color?

lol anytime jo. ;) I'm just wasting time until I can see the light again, so it's a shame I was ready so fast, because I didn't really need to be. :P I think I can see the light again in 15 minutes though. I just noticed that my first usless crystal is gone. :( I was hoping we could keep it. :(

telo... reverse tablet order? not a bad idea...

we need to try it for the 8 color mixing scrolls (for lack of a better term)

that makes you special!!

so you too can confirm what hydruxo has put forth...

sort your 8 scrolls blue first then yellows, then read them in card catalog order (top to bottom). when that fails, go back and try again reading the yellows first...

this test will help up 100% prove that order will not be based on catalog this time (which makes sense since we have no key (little dots))

thanks for being a team player!

EDIT: mods, sorry for the double post, didn't realize I was still the last poster!

Three stupid questions:

1. Do I need to read the scrolls during the hour that my light is on, or can I do it at any time I please?I expect no, but checking with you guys.

2. Is Stairwell Landing and Coastal Cartography the same as Cartography Archives?

3. Has floor three not been mapped yet? If not I'll do it, since five of my scrolls are on it.

;)

Actually, wait. Hold that thought. I'm going to retest the two combinations again tommorrow mornin just to make sure because i can't 100% remember if i've actually done it lol! Mainly cause the last two things i tested (see below) had the scrolls grouped in two colours anyway... >_< got me a bit confused.

But playing around with ordering, I've tested it in an order that corresponds to the original order of scrolls that i read eg. The first scroll that i read for my 1st lot was Blue Saf, so i go to the corresponding scroll in my second lot which was Yellow Saf. Didn't work.
