Here again that really isn't fair for the fact that new people join every day there is no way a person who just started could or would have enough time to train their pet as say me with 25 months, and my 25 months is nothing compared to those who have been with neopets since the beginning. I think neopets needs to either group everyone, or make it to where everyone has the same shot at completing the plot.
I know there is no way I will come in the top winners, but hopefully its not like the Mystery Island plot.

I came onto Neo when the Mystery Island plot was going. I had no idea what to do or where to go, and therefore did not compete. I don't hold it against TNT or any of the winners. It is part of the game. If you are a determined player and want to be involved, then it takes time and knowledge. Knowledge is gained from playing.

I did poorly in the Maraqua War (low ranked #2) warrior (don't get me started!!) But I wouldn't change it. Being all the same would be boring.

Hmm... just grabbed my 6th handful, and I got my third item. It seems that if you dig around the :00, :20 and :40 second mark, you get an item. I've done it twice on the :40, and just did it on the :20. Someone want to confirm these?

As a note, at the :20, I got a book. Both of the :40, I got desert food.

I agree.

I've been playing since mid-April. The only Event (afaik) that I could've taken place in before this one is the Maraqua War. Unfortunately, I found out the day the war started that I'd lost my chance to register in it. I don't blame anyone for that.

My only regret is that I really liked the look of the Maraqan Sidebar Theme and that appears to be open only to those who were in that Event.

So now I'm in this Event. When it started looking like Agil was a factor in digging out, I started pumping in Agil and seeing what happened. When I heard about the possibility of a war at the tail end of this, I started working on the other attributes... I'm trying to get all I can before I go to L21 so I don't have to pay 2+ codestones any longer than I have to.

I dont think the amount of sand you carry should effect how you finish in terms of the plot. Everyone needs to have the same shot at finishing first.

However, I do think there should be some type of bonus for carrying all that sand!! Perhaps a credit at the gift shop? Even a avie would be nice.

I agree there is an advantage for players who have been playing neopets longer and who are richer and who have higher trained pets. But isn't that what this "game" is all about?

This isn't much of a game if it is played with loaded dice. This is a community that just happens to have games with loaded dice. It is like everyone is saying: you're competing because you want to. My pets have low speed. I don't care. I may not have the same advantage as everyone that is actually willing to spend points to get the Lab map or codestones. I don't care. If you want to get ahead, play more games and cheat your customers at your store. Just play the game! Just live in the community! Just stop complaining!
(This was directed to all the complainers out there. I doubt jojoneo is one of them).

Why does everyone need to have the same shot at finishing first? Why does it have to be "fair"?

The wars weren't. You spent time and money to build your stats and equip your pet which let you win more battles so you earned more things.

Same with this plot. Of course you're allowed to have a life, I haven't been chained to my computer, but that's a choice I made. My agility is high, my wait is an hour, should I reap more benefit than someone with a three hour wait? Why not? I spent the time and money to get my agility that way.

Everything cannot, nor should not, be equal for everyone all the time. That's like me getting upset that I don't have a Volcano Run gold trophy. I'm not good at that game. I haven't spent the time to get better, I haven't earned it. That's why I don't have one. Same concept applies to this sand business. And even to the whole plot in general. I put in the time both before, training wise, and now sand carrying. I at least feel like I'm earning something.

I completed my tablet for the lost desert plot, I have my translation, however, I've never seen the statue, and I don't remember seeing a riddle to help me eliminate all but 12 doors. What have I done wrong?

where was I supposed to see this riddle?

The riddle is at the entrance to your Temple.

It's the two-line verse where you first go to the temple -- more info on the first post of the thread.

Right below the picture of the temple, Neopets wrote:
An ancient temple rises from the burning desert sands before you. On the front door is written the following inscription:

You're looking for the two italicized lines immediately following.
